Josh Freeman probable for Sunday's start

After practicing on a limited basis because of a thumb injury the last two days, Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman is ready to start the season opener against the Browns.

Freeman is listed as probable with a thumb injury; the Bucs should have their entire roster ready for a game that both Florio and I picked the underdog Browns

For Cleveland, defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (ankle), linebacker Marcus Benard (shoulder), and guard Floyd Womack (knee) are all questionable for the game.  Rookie guard Shawn Lauvao (ankle) is doubtful; linebacker D’Qwell Jackson (chest), and safety Nick Sorensen (head) are out.

It looks like Rogers has a good chance to play after missing all of training camp.  He was limited in practice all week.

  1. Of course you picked the Browns, neither one of you know a lick about football. They’re underdogs for a reason, because the Bucs are going to win… and then you and Florio can move on pretending like you didn’t miss the boat on an up-and-coming team.

  2. Brasho…you and ModIII suck….take your faq Bucs and shove them where the sun don’t shine. tell queer modIII Dbart says Hahaha…go Browns!

  3. The Browns will beat the Bucs easy. The Browns are a team on the rise, The Buc’s are perpetually 6-10ish. 34-21

  4. Actually Freeman took every #1 Snap at Tropicana Field yesterday. The Media wrote all about it. You know those guys you paraphrase, instead of being original. Clearly this story was only meant for you to bash the Bucs. I hope Warren Sapp finds you in a Prison the next time he slaps a woman, Allegedlly!

  5. Hey brasho, you better hope your sorry ass bucs win, because they aren’t going to have too many chances this year. The Browns are only 2 frickin point underdogs AT Tampa Bay for a reason, douchebag. and we’re talking about the BROWNS. you’re in for a rough year.

  6. If I were a betting man, I would be inclined to go with the home team, especially against a team like my Browns.
H-O-W-E-V-E-R, as Jaydee327 pointed out, the Bucs are only favored by 2…AT HOME! That doesn’t put a lot of faith in the Bucs. At home should give you a minimum of 3.
I know the Browns have a long way to go but, they are headed in the right direction, finally.

  7. WOW you and Florio picking against the Bucs, what a shocker.
At this point with the agenda/bias slant this site has towards certain teams you would pick Applachian State over the Bucs too

  8. The Browns are in a NO win situation, OTHER than the actual win of course…….
IF the Browns win they just beat up on a team that is going nowhere fast but IF the Bucs win then the Browns will be looked down upon around the league worst than before!

  9. One pretty important piece of our defense will be missing. Someone you forgot to mention…our soon to be Pro Bowler Aqib Talib.

  10. This game will be an easy victory for the much improved Browns, especially with starting QB Josh Freeman hobbled or even possibly missing the game with the thumb injury ON HIS THROWING HAND. I would not expect much if back-up Bucs QB Josh Johnson is forced to start. He is atheltic, but an NFL greenhorn.
Browns starting QB Jake Delhomme has won 9 of 11 games against the Bucs from his days with the Panthers, so he will know their defense real well.
The Bucs suffer from an overall lack of talent from top to bottom with the exception of rookie and 1st round pick DT Gerald McCoy, former Brown TE Kellen Winslow, CB Aqib Talib (suspended for the game).
The Bucs overall lack of talent is not just limited to the players, but to the front office and owners too. What kind of an IDIOT would fire a truly strong management team in head coach Jon Gruden and GM Bruce Allen after a 9-7 season. The Bucs have sucked ass ever since and look for more of the same when they meet the Browns.
    Browns 31-13.

Bro, if you’re trying to play analyst when you grow up, you’re failing miserably. Stop with the whole dead horse of “Delhomme won 9 of 11 games/he knows our defense” bull. Yeah Jake the Mistake knows how to complete passes right to our secondary and he’s really the only thing that ever kept us in those games against Carolina’s harsh running duo who usually combines for 200 yds/gm (I’m not blind I’m a realist, Tampa’s run D sucks). In fact, I want to say (that means don’t quote me check it yourself) that Jake went 7 for 16 for about 65 yds in the ONE game he started against TB last year (Cats won by 1 score). The second game? oh, he didn’t start that and shortly after his pitiful season, he was shipped off to the Browns. Good luck!
So seriously, give me a better reason than that “hey a football analyst said it so it has to be right” and admit when your team is going to have a hard time. It’s not a bad thing, Tampa beat Green Bay, Seattle, and New Orleans last year (all a little better than cleveland except maybe sea) so stop acting like a loss to tampa would kill you.
Trust me, it’ll make today’s loss go down a lot more smooth for you 🙂
