Eagles lose Jackson to torn biceps, Weaver to torn ACL

The Philadelphia Eagles lost a football game to the Green Bay Packers, and they also lost two offensive starters to major injuries.

Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed after the game that center Jamaal Jackson suffered a torn biceps, and fullback Leonard Weaver suffered a torn ACL.

Jackson suffered what had been termed an elbow injury in the second quarter. Weaver’s knee bent the wrong way in a pileup.

    Eagles looking the Niners…trainwreck!

MDS, you really need to specify WHICH Jackson the Eagles lost in the headline. When the team also has a superstar by the name of DeSean Jackson, a headline like that can be a bit misleading.

Andy Reid is clueless. He cost his team the game at the end of the 4th by using all of his timeouts between the 5-6 minute mark when they were obviously going to get the ball back with plenty of time to drive ESPECIALLY with all of their timeouts left. He’s a moron who will be exposed now that the heat is off mcnabb.

Feel bad for Weaver coming from the Seahawks and had a ProBowl year last year and now this happens.

    No.
The 4th down call is what cost them the game.

Eagles lose Jackson and Weaver, not to mention Kolb and Bradley, and still come back from 27-10 to lose by a touchdown to a team that many have going to the Superbowl? I’m not that upset…didn’t have them winning this game anyway. The question is, can they recover? Kolb looked pretty terrible before he went out.

Steeler fag 6 super bowls in 100 years that’s good to you send your mom to bens house to keep him going ohhhh she to old then send your sister

Andy Reid is clueless? All the guy has done is win, win, win in the NFL. He has made the playoffs in the large majority of years he has been the coach. He made the SB (yes it was a loss) and the Iggles have not had to “rebuild” ever in his entire tenure. They have only had to “reload.” How much would the losers from Cleveland, Detroit, Buffalo etc pay to trade their HC for Andy Reid? BTW – I am a Ravens fan.

  18. xebradick says: Sep 12, 2010 10:56 PM

How is it that no one in the media can see how bad Reid is at managing the clock? Go back to the Dallas game in Philly last year or about 20 other games in the last ten years and you would be stunned at how many times mismanagement has cost them a game.
Better to be good with the press than at your job in the NFL.

  19. Fire Ted says: Sep 12, 2010 11:06 PM

Steelers Rule, ya my team won…and has 3 rings and Aaron Rodgers isn’t a rapist like your QB, that must be why you bring up “the little girls room.” Congrats on your team winning six titles…when you have twelve, then we can talk douchebag.

  20. buddha says: Sep 13, 2010 12:04 AM

ONEGIANTLOSS, the timeouts had nothing to do with the loss. There was still plenty of time on the clock to make more plays. It was the failed 4th down conversion that lost the game. I must admit, it was exciting to see Vick out there making plays. Even if Kolb IS able to start next week, I think Vick has definitely earned some more snaps.

  21. clintcooper says: Sep 13, 2010 12:49 AM

The closeup replay of Leonard Weavers’ injury was enough to make a person nauseous. It looked awful.
Btw, I’m really glad Michael Vick (aka dog murderer) FAILED and failed badly in his comeback effort.

  22. longthoughts says: Sep 13, 2010 12:53 AM

That 4th down call was brutal. A quarterback sneak, and not even under center? Really? When everyone watching knew that they could have spread the receivers out and then let Vick choose between throwing or running? Terrible call. Put that one on Reid, but at the same time, all of you Eagles fans who want to run Reid out of town because he’s only keeping you in playoff contention every year need to wake up. (Try being a Cowboys fan the last ten years.) You already booted McNabb out. Do the same thing with Reid, and in two years you will have gone from contenders for a decade to instant bottom feeders. All I learned from watching the game is that Kolb wasn’t very good before leaving the game hurt and that any time he struggles fans are going to be screaming for Vick. Got to give it to Vick, though. He didn’t look too shabby.

  24. PhillyFansSuck says: Sep 13, 2010 7:20 AM

Kolb had a concussion my ass. That’s code for “Uh-Oh, that didn’t go the way it was supposed to.”
Vick looked good, but only because GB hadn’t game planned for a running back at QB.

  25. Dr. Michael says: Sep 13, 2010 7:40 AM

Big Bear- I agree, the Curse of Michael Vick continues. Father of the Year Andy Reid will go 4-12 this year and than draft first round bust Jake Locker number 1

  27. Heywood Jablowme says: Sep 13, 2010 8:07 AM

I’m perplexed about the play calling at the end of the game. Specifically the 4th and 1 with about two minutes left. They line Vick up in the shotgun instead of right behind the center for a 1 yard dive. Way to go guys, way to blow the play calling.

  28. steelerdynasty says: Sep 13, 2010 8:07 AM

    @ Fire Ted,
and how many bowls has your Aaron Rodgers won? How’d he do in the ‘Burgh last year? and how many did that overrated gray beard win while a packer?
    cheat sheet:
    ZERO
    LOST!!!!
    ONE
How many bowl wins for Ben? How many charges filed for rape? Guilty verdicts for said charges? 12 titles, how many teams were in the league then?
    cheat sheet:
TWO (Thats double what both of your qbs have done)
ZERO (just like Rodgers’ SB titles)
ZERO (equal to how many games you won in the ‘Burgh last year)
DEPENDS ON HOW YOU COUNT ‘EM (3 determined by league standing, the next six were before the merger, you can brag about that all you want, no one cares…..and 3 legit SB wins) only packer fans are impressed

  29. Heywood Jablowme says: Sep 13, 2010 8:11 AM

Tough losses r/g Leonard Weaver and Jamaal Jackson. Damn.

    Let’s assess the Eagles.
    -Front office has no clue
-Coaches have no clue (and a history of choking)
-QB has no clue (and has a really bad headache)
-Fans have absolutely no clue (read above)
Sunday, October 3rd, in their own house – this franchise gets what has been coming to them, when their moronic decisions come full circle..
Donovan is going to light the Eagles up.. I will be laughing with every single first down and point scored. All time, most idiotic trade by any franchise EVER!

  31. FlyEaglesFly says: Sep 13, 2010 8:53 AM

Yes, Reid wins games. Rather, Reid’s system wins games. So, thanks to Mike Holmgren. However, on game days Reid and\or Morningweg are HORRIFIC with play calling in the red zone and time management at the end of halves. The Eagles will win their share of games this year but any time they play a good, well coached team they will lose.

light up? hardly what donovan did last night and he has to get through 2 more games and not wind up getting injured which we all know is going to happen at some point this season.
