Jeff Reed boots longest field goal at Heinz Field

Steelers kicker Jeff Reed has posted the first three points of the season for the Steelers by kicking the longest field goal ever kicked at Heinz Field.

In its 10th season of football, the successor to Three Rivers Stadium saw a rotating pass through the uprights from 52 yards out.

The prior record at the facility was held not by Reed or any other NFL kicker, but by Colts punter Pat McAfee, who boomed a 51-yard while kicking for West Virginia University in a game against Pitt.

And so the Steelers, who played old-school Steelers football to drive down the field against the Falcons, lead 3-0.
