Report: Max Starks has a high ankle sprain

The Steelers offensive line has another big injury.  And it comes again at the tackle position.

Alex Marvez of reports that left tackle Max Starks has a high ankle sprain and left Pittsburgh in a boot Sunday evening.

The Steelers already were thin at tackle with Flozell Adams taking over at right tackle for Willie Colon.  The team could move Flozell back to his natural left side.

Either way, Dennis Dixon’s job just got a little more challenging the next few weeks.

All the better to enable the Bucs to reach 3-0.

Oh no. The o-line is our biggest problem and has been for years. Our starting team isn’t the best and we have no depth at all. Roethlisberger takes some extra pounding because he holds the ball too long in some cases, but his size, toughness, mobility, and ability to improvise have helped offset these o-line weaknesses. With Max hurt, Willie out for the year, and Ben out another three weeks … we do have challenges to overcome.

Another out of shape SEC player! He sucks anyhow!

The season is about not only enduring, but overcoming adversity such as injuries.
Next man up, expectations stay the same.
I guess one of the best things about not having a good O-line is that when you lose somebody, the person coming in to replace him can’t be that much worse…

Matt Ryan sucks…he could have sent a hand written note on that stupid interception he threw to Polamalu..otherwise the Falcons win.

    I found it Florio!
How is this a touchdown, yet Calvin Johnson’s isn’t.
    So inconsistent.

Last time I checked, Starks was as close to being an All-Pro as his replacement, Scott. No biggie to me. Plug ’em in and line ’em up.

That was an all around ugly game.

Starks was a statue Sunday as he is most games. Johnathan Scott stepped in and played like an All Pro in comparison. There will be no drop off in play with Starks out, in fact the line will improve!

Finally we’ll get to see Scott for a full game.

Byron will get that job back if he can go this week

Jaggedmark, the ball crossed the line so its a TD!

steelers rule, oh for heaven’s sake, will you give it a bloody rest??????????? The Crimson Tide rolled all over Penn State Saturday night.
@steelers560 … I was watching on RedZone and missed a lot of the game details. Glad to know it won’t make that much difference.
@AttackRaven … Was just thinking that if I were like trickbunny and some of these Bengals idiots, I’d be on their threads mouthing off about their losses, but that’s not how I operate. Bet it’s how you operate, though, isn’t it? You should worry about the Jets instead of how we didn’t lose to the Falcons.

Yeah right. What an f’ing idiot you are. You talk big now, but will you be back tomorrow if the jets hand your sorry ass team an ass kicking? I doubt it…

Bad loss for the Steelers when the OL was already their weak spot. Would be like my Ravens losing another CB to an ACL tear. Dennis Dixon sucks, but even so the Steelers win. This is why I refuse to throw dirt on their graves. Much as I hate them, they find a way to win. But I must say that I think this year they will be doing much of their winning with smoke and mirrors. We’ll see how good a coach Tomlin really is. And finally, if Troy P. comes up with any sort of injury, then you’ll see me with the shovel, but until then they are still the Pigsburg Squealers and are still one of the top teams in the AFC.

    Steelers are imploding.
    Too bad.

  17. Morgyface says: Sep 12, 2010 11:09 PM

WE STILL WIN! Thats exactly correct ppdoc13. We dont have our star quarterback and we loose a few power players… BUT we continue to bring that hate and jealousy that is pouring out of you right now. We love it, we expect it and We eat it for breakfast. So KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HATERS!!!! HAahahhahaha Watch US WIN! Again. GO STEELERS!!!!

  18. DonnyBoy says: Sep 12, 2010 11:27 PM

    Yes Morgy,
You all did so well last year.

  19. robert ethen says: Sep 13, 2010 12:41 AM

Starks ankle has to carry about 370 pounds. Plus it has to carry it “high”. Not good.

  20. Beckzhere says: Sep 13, 2010 7:23 AM

  21. ppdoc13 says: Sep 13, 2010 9:25 AM

@Morgyface – this is why I shudder at trying to make a positive comment about your team. It’s your miscreant fanbase that is so busy sleeping with their sisters they only come up to act like idiots. It’s a shame the condom broke on your mother when you were conceived. The would would have been better if you were flushed with the condom.

    @ppdoc13 …
Apologies for the stupidity on the thread. Don’t recognize that name, but it doesn’t speak for all. Thanks for the props. You know I don’t want a win for you guys, but I do wish you a safe injury-free game tonight.
