The Chiefs’ 21-14 win over the Chargers Monday night wouldn’t have happened without the Chiefs’ two second-round draft rookies, who combined for a team record for punt return yardage.
Dexter McCluster, taken by the Chiefs out of Ole Miss with the 36th overall pick, and Javier Arenas, taken 50th overall out of Alabama, combined for 160 punt return yards, the most the Chiefs have ever had in one game.
McCluster’s 94-yard touchdown return was also the longest in team history, beating Dante Hall’s record by one yard. McCluster said after the game that he had been inspired on Saturday by watching highlights of Hall on YouTube.
“I was like: ‘Man, I’m going to try to do something like that,’” McCluster said.
In reality, McCluster ended up doing something better.

They weren’t both 2nd rounders. Do you even fact check on this crappy web site?
It makes me happy to see K.C. playing well. The Steelers and K.C. used to have some nice games.
Congrats
Got beat by KC?
Really?
BTW, I’m an idiot. They WERE both 2nd rounders. My error.

Umm, actually, yes they were. You should probably do a little “fact checking” of your own before calling out professional sports writers on their own sites.
Always a good sign when the special teams out gains the offense. Love it.
I was at the game when Dante hall made that return agains the Broncos in 2003. I thought Arrowhead was going to collapse it was so loud. Even through the TV you could see it was the same situation last night.
Go Chiefs!
Hope all you Chiefs haters, cynics and naysayers go F yourself.
Yeah webby, calm down next time. You clearly are an idiot. Loser.

Just an easy question for the masses. If McCluster is a WR how can he have #22 for his jersey? I know they play him at multiple positions but his primary is WR according to the Chiefs AND NFL website.
