My point is that there are those who are defending him w/o any idea what happened. Nobody knows (not even me) but BB, the girl, and God, and the guards, and the video owner, etc...
The bottom line: where is the same outrage for this one that the Ben haters showed? Where's that famous sense of concern for women, yada yada yada... Funny, I don't see it here.

Wouldn't have anything to do with that Steeler hatred now would it?

@edgarpoe ... Jackpot!! Jackass post of the day.
What you have with Roethlisberger is a woman in Nevada who had a one-night stand with him, texted friends she couldn't wait to see him again, and obsessed over him for a year to all her coworkers. When he was scheduled to come back for a golf tourny, her bosses got concerned and asked her to take paid leave while he was there. She wigged out and filed a $3 million civil suit claiming he'd raped her. If you read the complaint, she skims over this supposed traumatic event and spends page after page ripping on her coworkers. The texts she sent about how she just couldn't wait to see him again have been filed with the court.
That's the evidence in Nevada.
In Georgia, you have dozens of independent witnesses who told police a woman wearing a pin saying she was "Down to F**k" followed Roethlisberger from club to club, pinching his backside and climbing over his entourage to get his attention while drinking on her own dime and illegal ID. She followed him to the final club where the waitress said he bought drinks for the room that were placed on a table and she went over and helped herself. Witnesses said she engaged him in highly sexualized conversation, tried to get him to come back to her place, and TOLD him she was "Down to F**K." Witnesses said Ben was visibly uncomfortable at the way she was hanging all over him.
Her friends ragged him about the Nevada lawsuit and got thrown out of the party. She went to the bathroom, was out of sight for ONLY 10 minutes, part of that time with Roethisberger. Later, the two women thrown out of the party dragged her to cops, insisted she'd been raped while she denied it. Eventually, she went along with them. The DNA test showed that Roethlisberger could not possibly have inserted his penis into her vagina. Her statements contradicted themselves and those of her friends. Multiple witnesses refuted the sorority sisters' tale about the bodyguard. The DA said he had NO evidence a crime occurred and hoped those women had learned their lesson.
That's the difference between us, jackass. Unlike the anti-Ben groupies, I actually reviewed the REAL evidence instead of MAKING UP facts to suit myself like you bozos.

Deb says:

As PammyJo posted, judges don't issue restraining orders lightly. It's not quite as simple as Florio is making it out to be. So the judge had some reason for believing Sharpe was a threat to this woman.
By contrast, Roethlisberger first accusation came from a woman who texted friends that she wanted to see him again. Um, gee, you think she might have lied about it being rape? And the second came from a woman whose DNA test showed he could not POSSIBLY have inserted his penis into her. And that's only ONE bit of the mass of evidence investigators found that supports his innocence.
But you think HE should get 5-15?
And Florio wasn't the least bit concerned about rushing to judgment on Ben, now was he?
Wouldn't want to stand next to you guys around here. I live in the lightning capital of the world.
=========================================================================================================
You are right. I cannot believe Forio's double standards when he was all over Big Ben and he was completely innocent. All 47 allegations against BB, including 125 hours of video evidence, DNA samples, 25 eye-witness testimonies, and 47 bank tranfers of millions, are all false. Haven't we forgotten. He is a Steeler, thus, the chosen one.

This is the argument that makes the least sense. When was the last time a professional athlete was actually charged with rape (besides LT, which remains to be seen), let alone the verdict being decided in their favor and damages awarded? Never?
Sheesh

To be honest, this is the first I've heard of these allegations. As such, I have absolutely no opinion on the validity of the chargers. I do not, however, have a problem with ex parte proceedings in getting a protection order, especially with what the woman is alleging. The granting of a protection order isn't a legal finding of guilt. It could mean the judge believes the person is guilty, or it could mean nothing more than the fact that the judge feels it's better to be safe than sorry. If there is any validity to the woman's story (and again, I don't even pretend to know if there is), I can certainly understand why she wouldn't want to have to face him to get a protection order. A lot of guys who deserve to have protection orders filed against them can get very violent when they are. I've known women in my life who have been both harassed and attacked, and their tormentors don't tend to take a hint. The only way any of them seem to get the point is one the cops lock them up for violating the order. Even then, that only enrages some of the worst idiots even more. Personally, I think it's a good idea to not put a woman requesting a protection order in the same room with the person who she's asking protection from. Unless there's real evidence she's lying, just give her a temporary order to be safe. If no chargers are ever filed, then you let the order expire. If there are, then the case will resolve the issue. The simple solution to avoid any bias in a future case is to not let the same judge who gave the order preside over the trial. Also, don't let the simple fact that a protection order was granted be admissible in the case. If the burden of proof is not the same, then it legally proves nothing and can only be seen as prejudicial.

@NYMets ... You are a bitter, ignorant fool.

10 civil complaints have been filed against Sharpe in Fulton County, Georgia, all by women, since 1994."
If we're going to condemn Rapistberger for his record of alleged sexual assaults - and we SHOULD - shouldn't these 10 allegations count just as much against Sharpe's character as well?
Right on...Richm2257. But is Florio being "Politially Correct" for INTENTIONALLY omitting these facts. He used to be good...before the sellout.

Just proves that virtually anyone can get a TRO at anytime for most any reason. I bet somewhere way back when, someone asked for one, didn't get it then something serious happened, sued the judge, county or whatever and won. Now-a-days, no one wants to take the chance of being wrong.
Thankfully, evidence has to be provided to make it permanent.
