Charles Woodson misses practice for the Packers

With cornerback Al Harris already on the PUP list, the Packers need cornerback Charles Woodson more than ever.

But Woodson missed practice on Wednesday, with a toe injury.  Per Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Woodson originally suffered the injury in practice last Friday.

Limited in practice were tackle Chad Clifton (knee), defensive end Cullen Jenkins (hand), linebacker Clay Matthews (hamstring), cornerback Brandon Underwood (shoulder).  Safety Derrick Martin (ankle) fully participated.

Matthews said Wednesday that he’s not in jeopardy of missing the game, per Demovsky.

For the Bills, center Geoff Hangartner (ankle), safety Cary Harris (hamstring), and linebacker Paul Posluszny (knee) missed practice.  Linebacker Antonio Coleman (hamstring) and linebacker Reggie Torbor (chest) fully participated.

Not really newsworthy. Woodson missed multiple practices last year and all he managed was to be named the DPOY at the end.

All I have to say is it looks like Woodson will have his hands full if he’s planning on winning the DPOY this year.
I gotta say Mathews is gonna be making a heck of a case…
3 sacks 7 tackles a FF took out a QB, forced the other QB to give up, must have had 10 QB pressures…
Oh, had did Mullet head Allen do? 3 tackles and an assist… Maybe they can just give Mullet head an award for… You know, being special?

yet another case of it being ok for a packer to do it, but not a viking.

First off, you’re a Vikings fan… hypocritical, transparent and in support of a perennial loser since the early 1960’s. At least from your side- we’ve got you by 40 years and have won quite a bit in the process. In fact- since 1961, the year of your team’s inception… The Packers have won 6 World Championships to your teams 0. Also in that time, the Vikes have lost more playoff games (19-26) than Green Bay has won (22-13), which proves your team’s penchant for tripping on it’s own feet during the clutch.
What exactly is it that you can brag about?? Oh yea- scooping up Green Bay’s scraps. Just remember- the Vikings are not even the Packers biggest rival, the Bears are (which makes you… insignificant and not needed.).

We love hearing about the Packer’s 1920’s glory Grandpa, but you omitted mention of this Century, and the Packers inability to come anywhere near a championship, or win their own division, or even get an opening round victory after sneaking in to a Wildcard game.
Which is why you come to these threads Grandpa? Why don’t you brag about Packer victories during the Great Depression on threads belonging to your significant rival – the Chicago Bears…
It appears you’re afraid of something Grandpa, could it be the realization that the Packer glory days are long in the past – never to return? That you are frustrated watching the Packers beaten by the “insignificant” team in their division?

Woodson is a beast of a corner, but he isn’t without his flaws either. He’ll definately need some help from the other secondary players if Greenbay is to keep the points off the board.
Oh and whoever is comparing Clay Matthews to Jared Allen, are you on some kind of drug? You can’t compare a 3-4 LBs stats with a DE. Taking nothing away from Clay, who is definately good for only his second year he has the benefit being an LB and isn’t instantly double teamed/triple teamed and chipped. Is Allen stopped by one guy at times? Sure, just like everyone else..

Some of the best cheese in the world can be found out there and it’s much closer to San Francisco- the “Fairy” capitol of the world. 36. zangy says: Sep 17, 2010 12:53 AM

RC – If you want to bring up the last decade and talk about success that’s fine. How many NFC championship games did the Vikings go to this last decade? 1, with the same quarterback that took us to our only NFC champ. game which basically makes the argument of this last decade null.
So let us move to the previous decade, the 90s for comparison. I think we all know how that turned out. I sure wouldn’t trade the NFL title for the title of “Best 15-1 Team Ever”, that is something to be proud of!
How about the 80s? Laughable on for both teams, gotta give it to Ditka and Sweetness there.
And of course, the 70s. Which is where your franchise really started the trend that has turned them into the perennially-choking, laughingstock team that we have come to know now.
You, as a Vikings fan, cannot even being to speak about accolades, accomplishments, or anything that closely resembles success because the only success your team has experienced since the 70s has come with an ex-packer at the helm, whom was unceremoniously let go because of his wishy-washy, I’m more important than the team attitude. Well I guess he wasn’t really on the team anymore because he had stated, on more than one occasion, that he was retired.
I do want to point out that I was horribly disappointed to see Favre retire the first time, but after that I was all aboard with Rodgers and have not looked back.
Remember to keep those fingers crossed for good luck, douchebag.

And when have I typed anything about history of the packers pre-vikings being around? I don’t because it is irrelevant. What is relevant is when your franchise came into existance and what has happened since, especially when you bring up the history first.
The only thing that really matters is what is happening right now, and right now the best you can hope for is to be the equal of Green Bay come Monday morning. I’ll put my money on that not happening. Vikes 0-2 and Green Bay 2-0.

The old titles and accolades all built the atmosphere and tradition and resolute fandom we enjoy together, not to mention the same stadium in the same place since those same old days. As a result, we are anything but panicked. Viking fans look longingly at what we have through an impenetrable glass ceiling of opportunity. Considering the personnel decisions the Vikings management has made towards their second, albeit “better” attempt at “all-in…all-now”, it would appear the Vikings fans are the ones of the panicked variety. And now our kicker is better than yours too! It’s looking good.
