Ray Lewis's son totals 504 yards in high school game

Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis had a big game Monday night in helping his team beat the Jets. But he didn’t even have the biggest game of the week in his own family.

That distinction goes to Lewis’s son, Ray Lewis III, who gained a total of 504 yards running, passing, receiving and returning the ball for Lake Mary Prep in a 34-7 victory over Windermere Prep.

The totals were 206 yards on punt returns, 101 yards on kickoff returns, 104 yards running, 27 yards receiving and 66 yards passing.

Oh, and the Orlando Sentinel informs us that Lewis III also plays defense like his dad, with six tackles and a deflected pass in the game.

Lewis’s coach says he’s a definite Division I prospect who has bulked up by hitting the weight room, although as a 5-foot-9, 186-pound sophomore he’s still got a lot of growing to do before he’s as big as his old man.

Lewis bragged about his son on the inaugural edition of the Rich Eisen podcast, which is definitely worth a listen.

He won’t be his father’s son until his stat sheet includes at least three I-didn’t-see-nothings on one attempted murder.

Ray Lewis forgot to mention he threatened to kill the opposing players friends and family members prior to the game if they tackled his son.
I wouldn’t tackle Ray Lewis III either knowing Ray Lewis’s history.

  34. sacdaddy says: Sep 15, 2010 12:33 PM

    @huckle
Seeing that you know absolutely nothing about football, and given that it’s high school, standard human logic tells me he’s probably a running back (just like his father was in high school) that threw a 66 yd pass on an HB option. As for the other categories, well they are pretty self explanatory, but maybe somehow in your meaningless life you’ve never seen a running back return kicks???
As for the murder comments…. good lord get over it. If the glove don’t fit, you must acquit!!!!!

    ——————————
Yes actually, it is. Ray Lewis III is listed as a running back. 107 yards rushing. Sometimes, running backs catch passes (27 yds receiving). Occasionally, running backs throw passes on trick plays (66 passing yards). At the highschool level, many players play offense AND defense (6 tackles). In rare cases, a player might play offense, defense AND special teams (return yards).
And by rare, I mean it happens in at least 90% of high school football games.

You left out where he was found guilty of Obstruction of Justice for basically lying on the stand after it was determined he did NOT tell the whole truth… and right before he plea bargained his way out of a murder rap by turning against his buddies and ratting them out to save his own ass.
He went from murder suspect to witness for the prosecution in about two seconds as soon as he realized he was going down.
Yea, Michael Jackson was “acquitted” too, right after he ponied up $25 million to the accuser’s family in exchange for their silence.

    Couple of questions:
    1) how many Ray Lewis III’s are there out there? Does he name his kids like Gary Payton: GP Jr, GP II, Garious Payton, and on and on…
    2) This guy has like 5-7 kids with almost as many women! And he’s NEVER been married!!! Regardless of how you feel about marriage, kids born out of wedlock, whether this is a sociological/culture issue, or whatever, every single study in existence supports that kids do not do as well growing up in homes without both parents (and yes, there are scads of exceptions).
    3) Ray, two pieces of advice:
    a) next time — GLOVE UP!!! Even if you
don’t believe in marriage, at least have
    wisdom to use a condom.
    b) I don’t care what plea you copped, or that 12
years have gone by — you know, you
admitted in an SI article: the guys who you
    snitched on were connected. Their
organizations will never forget. You will get
    your due.

Math isn’t hard but obviously not your best subject. Ray Lewis is 35. His son is a sophomore in high school. That would make him 15 probably. So Lewis was 20 when he was born.

For those that constantly want to remark on Ray Lewis’ acquitted case yes, OJ- believed by many (including myself) was completely guilty… that was a B.S. judge that let him off but back to Ray, I have read and re-read the facts of that case and between the fact that he was acquitted and his character- that tells me all I need to know about the man. I am from Baltimore, I am not a Ravens fan but I do respect the team.
Every year out of Ray’s own pocket and during his own time he hands out turkeys and turkey dinners to needy families in Baltimore during Thanksgiving and he himself goes and gives out gifts to needy children around christmas. Not many professional ball players does that. He may have several children by several women but WTH does that have to do with his character- he takes care of them!!!!
As far as why is it brought up about his son playing H.S. football- well you would think it would be obvious- just like the Mannings its fascinating when there is a family that seems to have an inherited gift of playing the game and if he is playing like that at such a young age- then he may be a site to behold in a few years!
