Ever watch any meaningful stretch of play of Ward’s? Ward has brought down the house face up on d-ends and interior DLs … ask Baltimore, Cincy and Cleveland about that. Ask Denver. Ask Oakland.
People who don’t appreciate who Ward is and what he does are not true football fans. Polamalu would be disgusted with any of ya.

I find it interesting that several individuals on this post do not know how to spell “win.” They continue to spell it “whine.” Clearly when referring to a team with the only distinction of having won more Superbowls than any other team, they are attempting to show an appropriate level of respect and honor. I just wish they would take the time to spell “win” correctly.

Hines Ward is the dirtiest player in the NFL, according to a Sports Illustrated poll of 296 players released this week.
The Steelers’ wide receiver, long considered the league’s best blocking wide receiver, received 11.6 percent of the vote. He was followed by Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth (6.0), Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter (6.0), Bengals safety Roy Williams (5.1) and Titans center Kevin Mawae (4.6). Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan (4.2), Rams guard Richie Incognito (3.7), Falcons guard Harvey Dahl (3.7), Steelers safety Troy Polamalu (3.7) and Vikings defensive end Jared Allen (3.2) rounded out the top 10.

Dirtiest players in the league? Perhaps. But I’ll tell you one thing…..those so-called “dirty” players have gone to an awful lot of Pro Bowls.
My guess is, other players are calling these guys dirty because it’s easier than admitting to themselves that that the guys on the “dirty” list are just straight-up better football players.

Why is it okay for a defensive player to do that, and not an offensive player? WR’s running across the middle know they better keep their heads on a swivel, or they’ll be leveled. LB’s and DB’s playing the Steelers need to follow those same rules. You think these guys aren’t trying to take out Ward any chance they get?

If Hines was a linebacker or DB, and made the same hits, he’d be praised for being a tough-nosed hard hitting player. Since he’s a WR (often looked at as a “soft” position) he’s called dirty.
