No practice for Percy Harvin

Vikings receiver Percy Harvin practiced Wednesday on a limited basis with a new hip injury.  On Thursday, he wasn’t there at all.

Tom Pelissero of 1500espn.com reports that Harvin did not practice on Thursday.  It’s presently unknown whether Harvin missed due to the hip or another reason.

All other members of the roster practiced on Thursday, according to Pelissero.

The Vikings have only four receivers on the 53-man roster:  Harvin, Bernard Berrian, Greg Camarillo, and Greg Lewis.  Two receivers are on the practice squad.

  10. PackerRube13 says: Sep 16, 2010 3:00 PM

I hope this equals a trade for V jax… I say this as a Packer fan. V Jax is one of the most overrated WRs in the league, period, and yet they will pay him big bucks, and give up a lot to get him. (by a lot I mean a 2nd or 3rd rounder at least. Which by WR standards this offseason that is very high. Look what Holmes yielded…) What’s funny is they will have two WRs paid as top 10 guys, and not one is named Sidney Rice. Piss off your best WR and second best offensive player? Its the Vikings and Wilf’s way.

god, you’re a genius. one of these players is an established vet who is frequently rested and/or limited in practice but almost never misses a game. the other is 2nd-year player with well-documented chronic migraine problems.
so…I wonder why people would react differently?

  13. PackerRube13 says: Sep 16, 2010 3:05 PM

    Contra-
How is Woodson not practicing relevant here? Given Woodson was there for all of training camp and almost every practice so far. And is a proven vet. Defensive player of the year. Harvin is an unproven 2nd year player who seems to think he deserves veteran treatment after a pedestrian first year. Harvin skipped a lot of offseason tasks and camps and it showed in the first game. He is a second year player that has a long ways to go to deserve the treatment he feels entitled to… The two stories are completely unrelated and the fact you try to connect them is ridiculous. I don’t even care that he skipped today. I hope he skips every day because come sunday Favre and Greg Camarillo will not strike fear in the Dolphins defense and they will lose if they don’t get it together here. What a mess the Vikings have become. And I love it. Bring on V jax! Another over hyped and over rated receiver. You think they would have learned from Berrian and how well that worked out….

  14. Milhouse says: Sep 16, 2010 3:07 PM

Harvin is a 2nd year guy who has to practice as was evident by his performance last week.

Who cares if Harvin shows up for practices. He didn’t show up to the Saints game and that was far more important.
Do I think practice is important? Sure. Does that mean a player can’t miss a practice here or there? Sure a player can miss a few. With older guys it’s necessary to make them last.
But sitting out a practice and watching from the sideline and still showing up to meetings and the like is far different than sitting on a lawn tractor. It’s a lot different than not telling your bosses you’re going to miss until the day before. It needs to be a coordinated thing with the team.
But as far am I’m concerned the vikes shouldn’t practice and I’m in favor of them not practicing. I have the polar opposite opinion of the Packer team though…

Curious as to when at all I mentioned Favre? The story is about Harvin. My post was about Harvin. I never mentioned Favre. Its funny how absolutely stupid these Viking fans are. Wow.
And as far as the rookie of the year, being as prestigious as defensive player of the year. Well first off the answer is no, its not the same level. Harvin competed with moreno, stafford, and a couple other rookies who generally dont start.
Woodson had to beat out 32×11 players. He was the best defensive player in the league. Period. That is much more prestigious. And even so, is One good year enough to become entitled to what Favre and AP get to do? No. You Vikings and your double standards. I am curious as to how Harvin is being even mentioned in the same sentence as Woodson or Favre. Completely unrelated. Does that mean Clay mathews deserves the same rights as Ray Lewis? HA HA HA HA HA no.

Right. But if Favre performs well the season before (33 TDs and only 7 INTs) is a proven vet (20th season) and is up for MVP (would have been his 4th) – and has gone to about 16-17 training camps, there is still no excuse for him missing camp or practice? That’s what you’re saying right… just wanted to show how hypocritical you (Packer fans) are…
you are win the dunce hat of the day……. try to twist the facts just a little here?
question 1……… when did woodson decide to tell the packers he was going to play this year so they could prepare in advance?
question 2…….. when did woodson decide to skip camp all together because he was bigger than the team?
your fearless leader is the one that held his team hostage all year…… face it, if he had not come back they would have been completely f’ed. your fearless leader is the one that felt he didn’t need to attend any of the training camp. last i checked, woodson was there when the rest of the TEAM was there. he did not make the offseason all about himself.
go take lessons from pervy about spewing at least somewhat sensical drivel you assclown. you have surpassed f0f for the vikings version of jimmysmith. fof is still your bob nelson though

I do have to give Favre credit he is tough, its amazing his recievers got bad hips before he did.
I bet its, because they are too busy bending over to catch all those.. low throws he makes.

Vikings have 1 championship and no I am not going to post it again. You do your own research!

Better yet, use your imagination and disregard fact. I guess that one year Kansas wasn’t considered part of the world.
You just know all the other vike fans wish when this guy brings this embarrassment up that he’d just STFU.

Oh you mean like the 10 out of the 12 championships the Packers won way back when Lewis & Clark were discovering the West!? Give me a break!

It was still in GB not even in any other part of the state, and surely not a different part of the country, but if thats what you gotta do to make yourself feel better than have at it. Don’t 4get Herschel Walkers great seasons in Dallas since ur all ready going down south anyway.
