Former Lions and Broncos wideout David Kircus, whose career consisted of only 15 receptions for 308 yards and one touchdown, is better known beating up a guy and once working at a Subway restaurant between NFL gigs.
And also for passing a Mike Shanahan lie-detector test.
Kircus has been trying to make a comeback in the UFL, as a member of the Omaha Nighthawks. But only a week before the team’s debut, Kircus has been cut.
The UFL announced the move today.
Kircus filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year in the face of a civil judgment in excess of $100,000 held by the man whom Kircus beat up to trigger his troubles in Denver.

known FOR beating- maybe?
Where’s the link to the story about him beating up a dude? That’s a better story than working in a crappy sub shop.

I remember a friend of mine thought this guy was a super-star player…
David Kircus … you have no idea what he’s capable of.
well his brother killed the sister of a former co-worker of mine.
so, it is true that no one knows what he is capable of.
As a former Laker at his alma mater, it’s a sad story.
Good luck in your future endeavors, David.
Not a clue about this guy, but CornFlorio makes it sound as if he knows exactly what every UFL team is thinking and there is no chance of him catching on with another team…….
Hell, maybe he will end up playing for Denny Green! LOL
He was living with college students on the west side of MI for a little while. good bye david circus. there’s an empty seat in the retirement home next to Bill “short-arm” schrader.
