I don’t really know if he’s any good as a coach. This doesn’t seem to suggest that he is, but I’ve seen other things that suggest otherwise as well.

The Saints are going to destroy the Whiners Monday! Dismantle the Whiner fan base and the overrate horrible corporate cheerleader of a coach.
Singletary is not a head coach and this interview is proof. Proof that he doesn’t have the experience too deal with his emotions on camera. This team, like the Raiders, need new ownership and coaches.
Both are crap and we’ll see Smith, white Russell, get cut up again. He’s no NFL QB and that was figured out 2-3 years ago. At least Davis had the balls to get rid of Russell. Jed York is in over his head. He’s not even 30 yo and is expected to run this team because his uncle ran the team?

Singletary is a horse’s ass, and obviously a control freak. As I have said since day one, he is unqualified to be an NFL head coach.
I used to like the 49ers, but now it’s fun to anticipate Singletary’s numerous meltdowns, so I can’t help but root for them to lose. Hey, this is America; we like fireworks (think 4th of July).
He forgot to mention that while Raye has been in the league for 33 years, never once has his team finished higher than 13th on offense with him as an OC. He’s a total slapdick, and slapdick Singletary hired him on a whim after several others turned his control-freak-ass down.
Just a goofy organization, period.

I gotta side with Samurai on this one.
Dude spent all day talking to the press about the Yahoo leak. He addressed the late playcalls issue and his solution at his Monday presser.
The man doesn’t like repeating himself, period.
But I will say, he does need to learn how to keep his cool for interviews. He has to expect similar lines of questioning regardless of who else he has spoken to.
But I still love his no-nonsense approach. We’ll find out on Monday what he can really get done in 8 days.

It’s reminiscent of when Singletary’s ex-coach, Mike Ditka, guaranteed that the Saints needed only to draft Ricky Williams and they’d go straight to the SuperBowl.

So funny how we go from loved to hated in just one year because we’re the champs (thats right viking fans, gave u a rematch and you still couldn’t beat us… no excuses please). Its a very different feeling being on the throne than trying to get to it. Singletary….tisk tisk ask the Packers about calling out Brees or even ask Antrell Rolle about calling out Brees (he made the Cards start pulling their players to avoid injury in a PLAYOFF GAME). Im not saying u should sit there and say Brees is gunna kill us and we dont have a shot…for your teams sake, for your job sake you shouldve taken the high road and said “We’ve been working hard in practice and game film and we’re going to go out and execute and hopefully get our first win against the Champs.” but no you didnt say that did you mikey….. Remember Breesus’ best will beat the ever living S#!T out of your best. Game over before it begins!….. Rest of the teams on our schedule please take note of this bone head and do the exact opposite and you might have a chance. p.s. Alex Smith is your quarterback…these are facts!

Jason Cole of Yahoo sure stirs up a lot of trouble with teams from “unamed sources”. He did this same thing with the Vikings. I’d be suprised if he gets much inside access in the future the way he keeps helping insiders with axes to grind stab these teams in their collective backs.

I picked the 49ers to finish last in the worst division in football because of Singletary. Yes, below the Rams. The Seahawks. A team quarterbacked by Anderson. Singletary is just bad news as a coach. He’s a nutjob. Not that i’d say that to his face. The media were all in a swarm that the 49ers would be good this year. Well, sit back and watch and see who’s right. Popcorn, baby.

Oh, I don’t know, maybe something like 30 other head coaches might say (Rex Ryan excluded). Something that showed confidence in his team without disrespecting the opposition.
Something that showed he understood that part of being head coach is being the face of the franchise, and making wild proclamations while looking like your head is about to explode off your shoulders may not be as beneficial to your franchise as a whole as you would like.
People expect and excuse behavior like this out of players. Someone needs to remind Mike that he isn’t one anymore.

I love Samurai Mike’s confidence. He can be a great motivator but he needs to get a handle on actually coaching his team and he needs to stress situational football. He may be out of his depth but he will always be entertaining. There are some nuggets of greatness sandwiched in between those times when you might think there is an empty bed in the mental ward come lights out.

I admire this. Though it probably won’t happen. And it’ll probably fuel Brees to go off.
I remember the last time an opposing team said something like this about the Saints. Green Bay talked up their 2nd-best pass defense. Brees just said “My best will beat their best”. Result? 51-29 victory on MNF in 2008.
