The Panthers hope that second round pick Brandon LaFell can step into the gaping hole at wide receiver opposite Steve Smith.
LaFell started opposite Smith in Week One, and saw eight targets against the Giants. Unfortunately, he only caught two of them for 22 yards. And now he may miss his second game.
Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald notes that LaFell got the dreaded Saturday injury report downgrade. He’s now questionable with a hamstring injury.
If LaFell is out, Dwayne Jarrett figures to start. And the Bucs will load up more than ever against the run, knowing the Panthers can’t hurt them other than Smith on the outside.
