Dez Bryant scores first NFL touchdown, Bears answer right back

The Cowboys offense continues to have trouble getting going against the Bears, but Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant has found his way to the end zone.

Bryant took a Brad Maynard punt 62 yards for a touchdown with just under three minutes to play in the first quarter to give the home team a 7-3 lead at Cowboys Stadium. Bryant was all but untouched on the return as he only needed to juke Maynard after a good block by Leon Williams. Bryant flashed all the speed that made him a star at Oklahoma State and a first round pick in April.

The Bears didn’t wait long to answer. The Cowboys tried a short kickoff which gave the Bears the ball on the 42-yard-line and Jay Cutler made them pay. He completed a pass to Devin Hester for 19 yards and then found Greg Olsen for 39 yards and a touchdown to put the Bears back in the lead.

Their attempt to remain there will be hampered by the departure of left tackle Chris Williams. He left the game with a hamstring injury and reports from the scene have him out for the remainder of the contest.
