The Steelers toughest opponent yesterday wasn't the Titans -- it was that heat. It absolutely wrecked them, especially the offensive line. Guys were dropping like flies and I'm pretty sure just about every lineman on the team ended up with some PT.
Plus, Tomlin saw how well his defense was playing and just sat on the ball once they went up by 10. It was all about surviving after that. Like someone else mentioned, Batch looked much more poised but his opportunities to throw were limited and the offensive line did him no favors (even taking a TD strike to Wallace off the board). Lack of a dominating running game was just an extra hurdle.
Escaping with a win is a successful mission in my eyes, as I'm sure it is in Tomlin's. The defense looks incredible. The offensive line will be far from stellar but with some rest I think they, along with the running game, will resemble more of what we saw against Atlanta. The QB play in turn will improve because of this and the fact that Lefty/Batch will be upgrades over Dixon.
All in all, this team has faced some nasty adversity over the past 6 months or so, and being 2-0 is more than any Steelers fan could ask for. This team is in great shape right now and could be downright scary once Ben's back out on the field. Tomlin very may well be the coach of the year right now.
I. Am. Excited.

With their defense than can win 3-0 after causing a few turnovers. Most of us would have been happy being 2-2 when Ben came back. At least that is a lock. The haters are really stewing right now, oh yeah.
GO STEELERS!!
__________
You know it...no Big Ben and still 2-0...suck on it haters!!!!
@tk1966 got's it right as well....too soon to talk trash.....but man those standings sure do look nice but yea next week is indeed a sand trap for us in Tampa.
Go Steelers!!!!!!

That's great news! They must not think it's a tear! It would be horrible for him to tear and ACL or MCL in the same knee he injured in college with his contract up this year. I'm not a great fan, but wish him well and hope he'll have a quick recovery. With luck we'll be able to play Batch or sign and play Leftwich next week. Then perhaps Dixon could rest the knee another week and come back against the Ravens. It would be nice if he could finish with a good game that will help his signing prospects, whether he continues as a Steelers backup or goes elsewhere.

4th string quarterback, 3rd sting left tackle, 2nd string right tackle, and a utility man eventually taking over for the right guard...and they still won. There is not another team that pulls that off.
Oh yeah, they did in on the road. Anyone should be impressed.
By the way, Polamalu is the only player to make that play at the goal line. Absolutely phenomenal.

Batch , while the results do not show much, looked a lot more comfortable passing than Dixon. The protection got even worse when Batch came in. Batch barely got any reps all preseason and was understandably a half beat slower to recognize things , but you give him reps this week, and he will look better than Dixon.
Steelers need to worry about that wretched line. Something is wrong when your rookie center is your best player and even he didnt have such a great game today. With Starks gone, Steelers got major problems at tackles, and RG
