Redskins deactivate Haynesworth

Jay Glazer of FOX said it could be happening, and Chris Russell of ESPN 980 (a station owned by Daniel Snyder) reports that it’s indeed happening.

The Redskins have deactivated defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, according to Russell.

Glazer reported during the FOX pregame show that the move would have more to do with Haynesworth’s attitude and less to do with his injured ankle.

Running back Clinton Portis is not on Russell’s list of inactive players for the Redskins.

Washington hosts the Texans at 4:15 p.m. ET.

  1. Haynesworth is a child throwing a fit if he doesn’t get his way. To be 20 feet away during a defensive huddle during last weeks Cowboys game speaks volumes of who he is. Kick him out of the NFL for a player who wants to be there.

  2. He’s a goner. Bye Bye fat dumb ass!
Seriously though, it never will work between him and Shanny. At least try to get a pick for him.

  3. Just send him home for the next five years and don’t allow him to play football period. Everyone has seen how good of a business man he is. Make it so all he can earn is that last contract. He will be broke in no time flat. I am so glad Shanahan decided to do this.

I get the feeling he wouldn’t cry about it.

  5. They need to stop this childish crap and just let him go then. I think Shannahan looks like the idiot here and not Haynesworth. If you dont like the guy this much they get what you can for him and move on. Save your team the drama and the money and trade him. Who cares if you only get a 4th or 5th for him its better then paying him to sit on the bench or play a couple plays.
I wouldnt mind him on my teams for that.
