Charles Grant heads to the UFL

He won a Super Bowl ring in February.  Now, veteran defensive end Charles Grant will try to win whatever it is that they give to the team that wins the UFL title.

Grant has signed with the Omaha Nighthawks.  The UFL announced the move today.

Injured during the playoff run and cut by the Saints in the offseason, Grant landed with the Dolphins.  But Miami cut him loose a day after reducing the roster to 53.

Omaha didn’t play in Week One of the UFL season, since the league has five teams.

Grant was a first-round pick of the Saints in 2002.  He exits the NFL before resolution of the StarCaps situation, which subjected him to a possible four-game suspension.

Is it me or does every rundown NFL veteran looking to the UFL sign with the Nighthawks. I have seen no mention of any other UFL team ever. They must be real good.
