Way to completely miss the point. The issue is not when he got injured, but the fact that he got injured. Teams have enough difficulty staying healthy through 16 games; do you think that will get be more or less of an issue if the league goes to 18?

What’s Vinny Testeverde been up to? I don’t think he has a Jaguars jersey in his collection yet..
This offseason, PFT kept reminding us how great an 18-game schedule would be. Now in the past week, you’re completely changing your tune. Perhaps NBC isn’t likely to bid for two more games, so the corporate suits are leaning on you to change your hopes?
Let’s hope the UFL succeeds, and the NFL starts using it to get these QBs some game time. You have to admit, the quality of the #2 QBs has dropped since the Europe league folded.

jax didn’t have a qb on the practice squad that they like? does there OC have any ties to another coach/offensive system in the nfl where they could swipe one of their qb’s? todd bouman is a reach for a backup. but then again, he’ll probably play like steve deberg if garrard goes down/gets benched and beat my eagles on sunday.

The resigned Bouman because he’s familiar with the team’s playbook. He’s been on the regular season roster and was on the pre-season roster as recently as last season (if my 55-year-old memory is correct). I would like to see them eventually bring in a younger body (Losman or Ramsey would be fairly capable backups), but Bouman can step in quickly. I actually think he’s been hanging around somewhere waiting for the Jags to call.
Singing Leftwich off waivers would have been a hoot, and a circus.
Oh, and @egypt123: I am waiting for that second game against the Colts for you guys. That’s gonna be an ambush.
