Jets won't deactivate Braylon Edwards

After talking tough all day, the Jets won’t end up doing much about Braylon Edwards’ DWI arrest.

Jets G.M. Mike Tannenbaum said in a conversation with the Associated Press that Edwards would be active for Sunday night’s game against the Dolphins, although he wouldn’t start.  It will be up to Rex Ryan when and if Edwards plays.

If Edwards is active, the Jets are highly likely to use him.  It defies logic that they’d possibly waste a 45-man roster spot on a player they were planning to keep on the bench.

Greg Aiello of the NFL points out that the CBA does not allow teams to suspend or deactivate players for DUI arrests per CBA rules.  Florio notes, however, that Edwards would have been unlikely to fight a deactivation through arbitration with his free agent stock for 2011 already in trouble.

Either way, the Jets have a game they desperately want to win in Miami on Sunday night.  Edwards can help them win, so we expect to see him on the field.

  1. Of course they won’t stand up and make a statement to any of their players.
They only stand up and make statements to the press.
    What a classless organization.
DUI’s aren’t all that bad, right NY Jets?

  2. So in other words, if the Jets get off to a good start in the game, and have no problems, Ryan will make a bold statement by keeping Edwards out.
Ah, but if they fall behind, hell with that idiot’s issue, bring him on the field.
    So classless.

  3. Is this even a surprise? They are intimidated by the Dolphins, getting swept last year resonates with them big time.

  4. Is he an idiot? Yes.
    Can he ball? Yes.
Will he sit for more than one series? Nope.
    Prediction: Jets romp Miami, 28-10

  5. I mean is anyone surprised by this ? I mean 2 years ago DE Shaun Ellis was pulled over with a nice amount of Marijuna. Had no Insurance, and was speeding. And the Jets did nothing. Not even a week later when Ellis picked up ahuge peice of Ice and threw it towards fans. Real Classy team those Jets are.

  6. You may be a Jets fan is..
If you didn’t see this coming the day Edwards moved to the Big Apple.
If you actually thought management would punish him.
If you don’t think Ryan’s coaching style contributes to this type of behavoir.

  7. The Jets will beat Miami without Jenkins, without Revis, without Edwards. So who cares. I say suspend him for this game. The Jets can’t lose even without him.

  8. If Greg Aiello of the NFL has pointed out that under the collective bargaining agreement teams are not allowed to suspend or deactivate players for DUI arrests, why in the world would anyone be upset that the Jets aren’t going to suspend or deactivate Braylon Edwards for his DUI arrest?
    Am I missing something?

  9. DWI Come on people its not like he threw his helmet in too the stands. he only had 1 too many whats the worst that could of happened may be what happened to Dante Stallworth or leonard little now brandon jabobs he is the real criminal here.

  10. So…….if I’m reading this correctly, the Jets issued the maximum punishment allowable by the CBA, and people (mainly Florio) are bitching because they didn’t punish him harsher then they legally could?

  11. “I mean is anyone surprised by this ? I mean 2 years ago DE Shaun Ellis was pulled over with a nice amount of Marijuna. Had no Insurance, and was speeding. And the Jets did nothing. Uhh, he was suspended Week 1 last season for the pot incident. Get your facts straight.

  12. Wow. Either the Jets are the most classless organizationin professional sports, or Ryan is terrified of the Dolphins. Maybe both.

  13. Hello Pot Kettle here

    ATLANTA (AP)
Miami Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown, who had been in the suburban Atlanta area to help celebrate his parents’ anniversary, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and released from jail a few hours later, officials said Monday.
Did he sit out any games??

  14. They are doing the most they can do. They are not allowed to deactivate him…they can sit him on the bench and I expect they would do that for the first series to send a belated message. I would sit the other two turds for a series as well, but it would be hard to do that for an o-lineman and not get burned. The Jets need to find some discipline quick

  15. yeah, and Miami made such a powerful statement with Ronnie Brown when he was arrested in March for the same shit…

  16. for a guy who was out drinking with his teammate the night said teammate ended up killing a guy (partly) due to driving impaired, you’d think he’d learn.
this is the issue i have with him, it’s not the first time and by not intervening now, it won’t be the last. until he kills someone. then he’ll get 30 days in jail. maybe. or a fine. maybe. and the jets will say, “we’re disappointed”…”now go out there and play football you little rascal” cause to hell with integrity.
Cleveland doesn’t do much, if anything, right, but wow did they hit the nail on the head with this guy.

  17. This whole thing is disturbing on so many levels. Not being able to deactivate a player after a DUI? The management of this team leaving playing time for him up to Rex? I’ll be in the woodworking shop making something for my daughter for Christmas, good time to NOT be watching the National Felon Leauge.

  18. Did we expect any less from such a classless organization! Ever since Rex the Mouth was hired they have been nothing but………talk.

  19. He was driving with a .16 at 5:00 in the morning! He’s lucky he didn’t kill someone!!
What do the Jets not understand about that!!

  20. Exactly as it should be. Let the courts handle the penalty for what he did. It’s not for the Jets to do. The NFL bargained that right away.

  21. “Worse run franchise in football..How do you not suspend a guy who gets a DWI….”
    I don’t know…ask Miami

  22. OF COARSE THEY WON’T!!! They need all the help they can get this upcoming Sunday. It’s going to be great watching the Miami Defense swarm all over Sanchez like white on rice. Dolphins 24 – Jets 10 (Sanchez get’s knocked out of the game by Cam Wake in the 3rd quarter) Sanchez is seen crying as he is carted off the field.

  23. Everyone is so high and mighty. Do I get suspended from work if I get a DUI? It was the wrong decision and he has made more than one mistake, but this can happen to you and me. The only reason it’s reported is because he a pro athlete. Fine him a game check and move on. He cost himself a lot of money in free agency. That’s punishment enough, plus the legal system will punish him as well.
    – The Jets could beat the Phins with the guys they cut a few weeks ago.

  24. Please someone show me how other teams have handled this… You mental midgets make it seem like this is the first time it has happened in the NFL. Am I crazy or don’t I remember hearing about Ronnie Brown getting a DWI this off season?Did he play week one? Where was the outrage? I remember his lawyer bragging about how Ronnie wouldn’t miss a game or practice

  25. Good. I’d rather have a distracted Braylon Edwards active. Now every Jet has to deal with this issue this week and even into the game.
Make him inactive, and he’s a non-story. Savvy, Rex. Savvy.

  26. Who in the hell would ever be stupid enough to get into a car with Braylon, even when he’s sober?
Would you trust your life to someone with THOSE HANDS on the steering wheel?
    Seriously…

    ————————————————-
Hey Mr. Unintelligence, read the statement above. NFL teams cannot suspend or deactivate a player for DWI. Per CBA rules. And this goes for pretty much every other post as well.

  28. 1) Donte Stallworth runs over a guy and kills him in Miami. Who was Stallworth out drinking with that night? Braylon Edwards.
    2) Braylon Edwards, at 2 AM, beats up a scrawny guy outside a Cleveland night club.
    3) At 5:15 AM, Braylon Edwards blows twice the legal limit in Manhattan.
With the pattern of his “essence” now clear, the commish is going to lay it on Mr. Edwards. If the Jets won’t sit him the league soon enough will. Braylon and Santonio may be like ships passing in the night.

  29. How about the giants in 2008.. Why don’t we see how they handled a player getting a DWI? Hint it was Kareem McKenzie and he played the same week. Where all you teetotalers up in arms then? Truly the YouTube of the NFL here with the commenters.

  31. @ nymets
Yeah because they did such a good job of beating us last game.. or the game before that…Ohh and the game before that..lol dumbass

  32. Yea talked tough all day, you mean put out a one paragraph statement at 830. But its close. I don’t really care were still beat in dui’s by miami. Besides I defy anybody to tell me that they never drive drunk its dumb but its not a Big deal untill you get caught. He wasn’t even swearving he was pulled over for tinted windows, everybody knows there limits his just happens to be .16% lol

  34. The NFL ought to suspend every one of the dirtbags who get a DUI/DWI…even first offenses. (That includes Ronnie Brown) There should be no exceptions if the BAC comes back over the limit…not even when the buy a plea deal. Minimum should be 1st time 2 games, 2nd time 8 games, 3rd time lifetime ban from playing in the league. Adjust the suspension based on prior history of being in trouble. These guys feel like they are above the law and that there are no consequences. They need to understaqnd that they place the lives of innocent people in jeopardy just because they need to keep up sonme demented kind of “cool” image that could be damaged by getting a ride. Hire a freaking Limo or call a cab…or use the tools provided by the teams.

  35. @ johnny1979
Boy u jets fans are stupid… we beaten you the last three times we’ve played…how can you beat us with the guys you cut last week when your crappy starters can’t do it! Lol

  36. While I’m pretty upset with Braylon because of this, everyone is kinda overreacting right now. Not that long ago Ronnie Brown got a DUI and no one is really talking about that. I know it doesn’t make it right, but in a few months, no one is really going to remember/care about this.

  37. DO YOU KNOW HOW CLASSY DOLPHIN FANS ARE, WHEN THEIR TEAM HAS A LOSING RECORD THERE ARE MORE JET FANS THAN DOLPHIN FANS IN THE FINS HOME STADIUM

LOL This comment made me think of the article where Rex punished his team in practice for penalties by making everyone do 10 pushups. lol They are gonna get romped in Miami.

  39. Hey Turf, CBA be damned. Goodell could use the same excuse he did for Ben- misconduct detrimental to the NFL. Oh, that’s right. NFL headquarters are in NY. A big market team. Goodell only wishes to screw small markets like Pittsburgh.

  40. To all of you trying to play the Ronnie Brown comparison, the difference is that Ronnie has been as straight laced as they come, and Braylon has not. It doesn’t excuse either from the stupidity of not calling a cab or limo.
Let him play. The outcome of the game Sunday night won’t depend on him anyway. This will be about defense and ball control.

  41. That should come as no surprise. Woody and RR are probably just waiting for the legal system to “take its course.”
Maybe Edwards could bunk with Plex after the verdict comes down and he’s sentenced.
Twice the limit? C’mon man, you’re just not trying hard enough.

  42. “Florio notes, however, that Edwards would have been unlikely to fight a deactivation through arbitration with his free agent stock for 2011 already in trouble.”
Why does Lord Florio think…..wait, why do the staff at PFT think that Lord Florio knows what people are thinking above and beyond what they say? Does he have some sort of crystal ball that tells him what a player, coach, official or whoever really wants to say but doesn’t?
Come on…….how would Florio know what Edwards is likely or unlikely to do? If this is true, that Florio has inside information, why didn’t he step up last night and stop Edwards from driving? Hmmmmmm

  43. Hey mr. im an idiot and my name is turf, your right and every other singe person posting is wrong, what are you 12?

  44. No one mentions Ronnie Brown because he is not a repeat offender. If he was out doing this on a regular basis, punching fools and being a royal ass then yea Ronnie would be mentioned. Other players have acted out and were either benched or cut.
Jet fan gets all butt hurt because they hire a bunch of loud talking ass hats and cry when the fans from the rest of the nfl point it out. Typical.

“we beaten you” – when you get pass a junior high education level let me know. How fast is the internet at the trailer court?

  47. Big Ben wasn’t suspended for allegedly raping a girl, he was suspended for breaking the code of conduct for the NFL. He didn’t get in trouble for the first offense, but rather for making it habitual.
Don’t suspend Braylon for the DUI, suspend him for being a repeat offender of the NFL code of conduct. That’s the argument. This is not the first time this dude has been out of control. He has enough scratch to hire a taxi. Hell, in a related story on ESPN, the jets say they have things put in place so a player won’t have these types of situations. Make the ignoramus sit a couple of games to think about his future with the Buffalo Bills.

  48. Yea talked tough all day, you mean put out a one paragraph statement at 830. But its close. I don’t really care were still beat in dui’s by miami. 49. Who cares all the Jet haters, which is 95% of you, would not think the Jets are any more classy had they benched him!! You guys are such hypocrites it’s is unbelievable. The object of the NFL is to WIN and you WIN by having your best players on the field. Suspension or no suspension you guys would still say how classless the Jets are so it only makes sense to just play him dominate the Fins and move on!

  50. Are people really comparing Braylon Edwards to Ronnie Brown. Ronnie is a man that made a mistake in the offseason. Braylon Edwards is a spoiled child that’s been f’ing up 1-2 a year.
You better bet anyone on the Dolphins pull this sh!t this time of year and Sparano will have his a$$!!! Except Joey Porter of course, that guy scares me.

  51. I knew I hated the Jets when I found myself actually rooting FOR the Ravens to kick their asses the other night.
That reaction puzzled me until now.

  52. the jets always talk tough all day and end up doing nothing. play edwards and revis so u have no excuse when u lose

  53. Hey Florio, can you clear something up PLEASE?
Various players around the league are active one week and inactive the next, for this reason and that reason, coaches discretion, blah, blah, blah.
Couldn’t the Jets make Edwards inactive without a reason? I mean for example, are the Saints giving receiver Adrian Arrington a reason for why he’s sometimes on the active roster, and the next week not?
    Who needs a reason?

  54. I’m sure this move will make the bad karma go away.
This whole organization is now, hands down, the biggest laughing stock of the league.
What a freaking out of control mess.

“HEY SHUT UP HERE I’M TRYING TO HATE, THE JETS ARE SO UNCLASSY. I LOVE RONNIE BROWN.”

  57. There is no CBA rule that says the Jets can’t suspend Edwards. Only one that says the league cannot. Not if it’s only his first time. But first time, fifth time, the Jets can suspend him anytime they want. So posters saying they cannot suspend him….WRONG!!!

  58. Rex doesn’t acre about anything except eating and winning games. If he was a class act he wouldn’t have said all those things about Ray Lewis (and I’m a Steeler fan).

  64. Funny, 3 NFL players in a car and they can’t pay for a driver? Maybe the union should start assigning these guys a shmo to drive for them. I would do it for less than they make in 2 weeks for the entire year.

    Incredible.
    Just incredible.

  70. I love the stupid “Braylon wouldn’t challenge a deactivation in a contract year” thing.
Right. Like he wouldn’t risk something like a DUI in a contract year. Or like the NFLPA would just allow the rules to be violated without contesting it. Like a CBA can just be so obviously and publicly violated without contention.
As you pointed out, Rosenthal, that bit of “logic” was put forth by Florio…and Florio is moron who just figures stoking outrage with the Jets is good hit-whoring.

  71. Wow are all you guys really that stupid? Let me spell it out nice and clear for your. THE JETS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO PUNISH HIM. THEY WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SUSPEND HIM. THEY WERE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO DEACTIVATE HIM. They did everything they could, but it falls under the substance abuse category which results in a fine, and not personal conduct, where teams are allowed to intervene. There is nothing the Jets could have done, because of how the CBA is constructed. They can’t afford to activate him every week and not have him play. That would be insane. Its despicable what he did, but the Jets handled it as well as they possibly could. And I love how a Jet gets a DUI and its all over the news, and like 10 other guys from different teams get DUI’s and its not a story anymore like 5 minutes later. Quit hating just cause your team sucks. Btw its hilarious how Dolphin fans are so “horrified” when Ronnie Brown got a DUI earlier this year. Can’t wait to see us mop the floor with Chad Henne. No more Ginn on returns to steal the game for you losers!

  72. Despite being 2-0 the Miami Dolphins will finish the season 5-11. All the whining the Miami Dolphin fan does serves as a distraction to this fact.
Miami Dolphin fan: Who cares what you think?
Come back in 10 years when you make the playoffs.

  73. This franchise is a joke. But the biggest joke is that you guys are waiting for Santonio to come to the rescue. The only difference between Santonio and Edwards is that Santonio catches the football. Hell, the dude has been arrested way more times than Butterfingers has.
It will only be a matter of time before Santonio gets caught at 5:15 a.m. … blunting instead of boozing.

  74. Pretty nice message you’re letting the Jets send there Commissioner Goodell.
Makes sense. Goodell grew up a jets fan, and his first NFL job just happened to be with his beloved jets.

  75. Hey, Goodell? How about suspending this @$$ for a few games. Big Ben has never been arrested in his life. Not even so much as a parking ticket. Yet, he gets hit with a 6 game suspenision.
    This is not fair!

    I don’t know why don’t you tell me…. because your hillbillie ass can’t count… that’s 3 in a row and counting… we own you bums…

  77. @asdfghjkl – The answer to your question is because Ben Roethlisberger is white. GODell made a point to punish the first high-profile white player to remotely get in trouble (even if not charged because there was no evidence). Since then, look at the results … Vick’s party and an assault (A-ok); Brown’s loaded weapon on a plane (fine = less than a game check!) and nothing will happen to Edwards. It’s reverse discrimination.
GODell is a joke. His discipline is extremely arbitrary.

  79. The JETS are taking the high road on this one.
Edwards will not be suspended. However, Rex will chain his hands to the bench during the game.
That’s the only way to eliminate the drops and it will improve the JETS chances of winning.

  80. Whatever is going on, the system is inconsistent, unfair, and bogus. I want some action by the NFL against this guy. I don’t care what rule is in place that claims to protect him from punishment. I have nothing against the Jets. But, after what Steelers fans have gone thru with Roethlisberger, the media attention, and the NFL, it’s only fair to have a penalty system that is just and fair.
I don’t condone Roethisberger’s behavior, whatever might have happened with those women. He is a jerk. But, you have to go on the facts in front of you. Ben has never been arrested. Never broken any kind of probation. Never been ticketed for anything in his life (that I know of). And, has always acted professionally, at least, on the field. In other words, he’s not an @$$ towards other players and doesn’t taunt and showboat like some other immature players. It’s alll business and a determination to win.
Not sure it’s some kind of racism. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if a shmuck like Godell was a racist.

I’m still not sure exactly how Edwards is avoiding a suspension given his previous assualt charge. Maybe the trick is to actually get arrested or charged…

For all you dopes that are saying that you can’t compare Edwards and Ronnie Brown are just blind homers….they did the same exact thing!!!!

Close, but not true. One was done 6 months before the start of the season, the other was done during the season.
I have no problems with the Jets playing Edwards, but then don’t try to sound all tough by saying that you are going to discipline him.
Either say nothing and play the man, or say you are going to discipline him and sit his ass out for a game. I don’t care if it isn’t the Miami game.
When Brown got the DUI, the team didn’t come out saying that they were going to discipline him. so when nothing was done, no one really said anything.
Jets just have a big mouth.

  92. “Big Ben wasn’t suspended for allegedly raping a girl, he was suspended for breaking the code of conduct for the NFL. He didn’t get in trouble for the first offense, but rather for making it habitual. ”
Except Commish said that the incident in Reno had no bearing on his decision. Let’s make no mistake about it – the Commish suspended Ben because of the DA’s press conference, not because he “provided alcohol to minors”, who were deemed of age and given proper wristbands by the night club, who also served them alcohol.

  93. YAWN…
EVERY TEAM HAS A FEW IDIOTS, SOME ARE WORSE THAN OTHERS.
THE NFL AND TEAMS DON’T HAVE THE BALLS TO DO ANYTHING REAL TO STOP IT.
AND YOU WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT YOUR NFL TEAMS, WATCH THEM EVERY SUNDAY, USE PLAYERS IN FANTASY FOOTBALL AND BET ON GAMES.
ALL YOU POSTERS WHO BASH ARE HYPOCRITES AND IF YOU SAY YOU WON’T SUPPORT NFL ANYMORE, WELL THEN YOU’RE A LIAR TOO.

  94. Can’t wait for Sunday to see all the jets fans jumping off the bridge like lemmenings.. excuses will be one of the following..
    A. Revis didn’t play
    B. Jenkins didn’t play
    C. Dolphins got lucky
    D. Sanchez was to busy staring at Snookie…or
    E. Rex got stuck on the concession lines getting a god damn snack

  95. subzero…you are not missing anything. It’s just that the haters gotta find a reason to put jets down, so they ignore that the CBA does not allow to suspend on first-time, no contact DWIs…
Speaking of haters, anyone seen ampats lately? Guess I’d keep a low profile too if I made his stupid predictions and hate, and then saw his pats get outclassed and outplayed in every phase of the game in the second half.
C’mon out Ampats…you can spread your hate more when you get that huge victory over Buff this week!

  96. Typical of a classless organization, with a low class coach. This i why no matter how many games they win, they’ll always be a second class team in their city and the league.

  97. Dolphins are non-competitve. Jets beat Fish all of the time, 17-7 since 1998.
    Jets 20 – Fish 6
Jet fans outnumber Fish Fans!!!! In their own stadium!!!! Fireman Ed will be there leading the J-E-T-S JETS, JETS, JETS chant.
    It’s like having a 9th home game!!

after living in south florida for ten years, it still amazes me how little education the people down here have. the stupidity is just evident everywhere.
i think you were trying to say “lemmings” dummy.
and we’ll see whose bandwagon empties on monday morning. what a retarded statement coming from a south florida fan, all that’s down here are bandwagon fans. check an empty stadium for a late season dolphin game that doesn’t involve the jets or another big-draw team.

  99. You haters are ridiculous. In no way am I condoning DWI but Ron Brown in March, NO SUSPENSION. Kareem McKenzie in 2008, NO SUSPENSION. Since FAT ass Francesa has been jilted by the Jets he just piles on the hate. I can’t wait for 1:00 pm this afternoon to hear him cry about this. It’s going to make my month. Because Edwards plays for the Jets he should be suspended and because he’s not, the Jets have no class? You subjective douche sniffers make me sick. And Steelers fans, please. Your quarterback is an effing scumbag.

  100. FACT:
Since 2000, according to research on N.F.L. arrests by The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Jets have had eight players arrested, including Edwards on Tuesday morning. Three stemmed from bar fights and three on charges of drunk driving.
Over the same stretch, the Jets’ neighbors in the New Meadowlands Stadium, the Giants, have had 11 players arrested, with seven in just the past two years. This is a Giants franchise often hailed as a model team and noted for its character players.

And you’re criticizing somebody else’s education? Nice grammar and puctuation Blowsgreen. You’ve had your fun online, now go finish cleaning my pool.

  102. @ Rex Ryan’s Fupa
    “Nice grammar and puctuation”
How about proof reading your own grammar before ripping on my boy’s. Idiot.

  103. a big THANK YOU to the cop who put the cuffs on home. a big SCREW YOU to the judge who lets him go with no punishment

  104. REXRYANSFUPA – lmao….ok punctuation….puNctuation….i’ll give you that because i don’t have the energy to type capitals…
however; please explain to me, you south florida-educated moron, how that sentence is grammatically incorrect? PLEASE. i beg you.
you will fail, because you are as dumb as a bag of hammers.
    thus, i guarantee you are a doll-fan.
    GO GANG GREEN!

  105. Ronnie Brown got a DUI not a DWI. Ronnie Brown got it during the offseason. Ronnie Brown has never had a problem before that.
Braylon Edwards is out at 5:15am with two other Yet players drunk twice over the legal limit. What is a player doing out that late? Didn’t the Yets have practice the next day? Do they not realize they have a game this week against a team that WHOOPED THAT @SS TWICE LAST YEAR!
There are a lot of Yet fans at the game, not because they fly down to Florida to watch it. It’s because they get out of that cesspool called New York and New Jersey and move to Florida.
Yet fans have to be the dumbest fan base in all of sports. They are all a poor excuse for flesh and bones.

  106. WOW, I always knew that Dolphins fans were real real dumb but I didn’t realize how envious and whiny they were towards the JETS. It is like they wake up go to nyjets.com and then go to their 7.25 an hour job. The CBA states they can NOT suspend Edwards. They can bench him but they can NOT suspend him. Once again for you Miami idiots, they can NOT suspend him. Who knows if they will bench him but we All know that the Jets will win the game Sunday night!

  107. 305 – Ronnie Brown got a DUI not a DWI. Ronnie Brown got it during the offseason.
dude this is terrible. think about what you’re saying man. come on.
as far as more fans at the games than local fans….however it happens, it’s embarrassing. it’s a testament to the bandwagon fanbase in so. fla.

  108. 305phinfan…thank you for playing daddy to Braylon and scolding him via the internet for being out past 4 AM, but the team DID NOT have practice the next day.
Considering 1 Dolphin has a DUI, 1 Dolphin has an assault on a pregnant GF charge and 1 has a battery on a GF charge this year alone, you really need to just shut up. Two Fin battery charges in 2009, 2 in 2008…
When the Dolphins become the moral voice of the NFL, we will listen to you and take you seriously. Till then, maybe you can get together with Tony Dungy for coffee and conversation.
It’s public record, look it up
    Since 1/1/2000:
    Cincinnati – 32 arrests
    Dolphins – 19 arrests
    Colts – 18 arrests
    Saints – 18 arrests
    Steelers – 16 arrests
    Giants – 11 arrests
    Patriots – 11 arrests
    Jets – 8 arrests
    Nice try at hate, though,
    Buuuuuuttttttttttt…..
    FAIL!

  109. I found this in an article and thought it was interesting. Apparently Edwards won’t be suspended any time soon (unless he is charged with a felony or pleads guilty):
Adam “Pacman” Jones: Seven incidents and a felony before suspension.
Mike Vick: Two felonies. Suspended after pleading guilty.
Donte Stallworth: Two felonies (including manslaughter). Suspended after pleading guilty.
Plaxico Burress: Two felonies. Suspended four games and then cut by the New York Giants, still has not been suspended by the NFL.
Ben Roethlisberger: No arrests, no criminal charges, and no guilty verdict and suspended 4 games (yeah, yeah, I had to include that…)
The truth is, every team had players that break the law. With only 16 games to play, teams want to win and will do whatever it takes to win. I’m sure other teams have suspended players (the Steelers sat out Burress and Holmes) but apparently the Jets aren’t one of them.
