We all found out within the past half hour that Mike Vick is the new starting quarterback in Philly.
A league source tells us that Vick himself found out about the decision within the past hour.
All indications continue to point to Vick being the full-time starter. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that Vick is “the permanent starter, until further notice.”
Mort points to Vick’s performance and the status of the offensive line, which currently has a smattering of injuries.
Vick will debut in Week Three against the Jaguars. The following week, he’ll welcome Donovan McNabb back to Philly.
