Knowshon Moreno surprisingly ruled out against Colts

Well, this one came out of nowhere.

Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno has been ruled out of Sunday’s game by coach Josh McDaniels, according to the team’s official Twitter feed.  Right tackle Ryan Harris is also out.

Moreno’s news comes as a surprise because he wasn’t even listed on the team’s injury report the last two days.  Moreno “sustained a little something he will not be able to play through this week,” according to McDaniels via MaxDenver.com.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Moreno was hurt in practice Friday, which is odd because it’s a walkthrough. Correll Buckhalter and new addition Laurence Maroney will take over against Indianapolis.

Maroney looks poised to make his Broncos debut after fully practicing Thursday.  Moreno was averaging only 2.9 yards-per-carry on 39 tries in the first two weeks.

McDaniels is optimistic cornerbacks Andre Goodman and Champ Bailey will suit up.

  1. Is anyone really surprised about the Denver Bronchos and their injury reports? Mike Shenanigans used to fudge the injury report on a weekly basis when he was the head coach there. Must come down from management or something in the water.

  2. I second Chris4064. I just heard the news on a certain sports cable network and ran to pick up Buckhalter. But with this being Josh McDaniels, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Buckhalter, Maroney and Andre Brown all split carries.
By the way, those two Twitter links are dead, Greg.

You mean, at some point you thought they WEREN’T the pick?
Geez, I’m a Titans fan, and love to see the Colts lose, but even I wouldn’t bet they would lose against Denver.

Gee Rosenthal, it just shows how little you know about potential injuries.

  5. rumor has it he is in Mcdaniel’s doghouse, it may not be an injury.
could be that man love for another former Pat ( maroney ) is showing its true colors also

  6. So pissed. Yesterday I traded Colston for Moreno. This had better not be a season ending injury. I’m already mad enough.

  7. I would love to see Maroney have a big game. He’s a good kid even if hasn’t lived up to his potential on the field. I’m hoping the change of address will break him of any complacency or increase his intensity.

  8. OH MY GOD ALREADY!!???
I have always said it.. but seriously, this guy is the biggest pussy i have ever seen in the NFL.

  9. “Yesterday I traded Colston for Moreno.”
Horrible move even before the injury. The Broncos are on the verge of completely abandoning the run.

I can’t possibly imagine what your fantasy roster looks like to make a move like that. Are all your other RB’s injured? Every fantasy team needs a RB that averages less than 2.0 yds per run.
If you make any more moves that stupid try not to post them on PFT or stand back and take the heat.
