Four scores for Mike Vick

In past years, Mike Vick would chase a good game with a bad game.  And a bad game with a good game.

This year, Vick has strung together three solid performances for the Eagles.  Through three quarters, Vick has accounted for four touchdowns against the Jaguars.

Vick has completed 16 of 29 passes for 289 yards, an average of nearly 10 yards per attempt.  He also has thrown three touchdown passes.

Vick has added to his aerial attack with three runs for 28 yards and a touchdown.

Philly leads the Jags, 28-3.  If the score holds (and if it doesn’t I’ll drive to Jacksonville and water Jack Del Rio’s lawn), it will be the first time the Eagles have beaten Jacksonville in three tries.

Given that the game is being played on the site of one of the most disappointing games in franchise history — Super Bowl XXXIX — the Eagles also are exorcising some of Donovan’s demons today.

Just in time for Donovan to come “home”.

I think I might be one of the few in Newport News, Va that completely hates Mike Vick. Then again, I saw the house in Surry, and I know truly the pile of crap he, and his thug friends, are. The only peple in his home town that pull for him, are thugs, and his family. The rest of you have no excuse. Trash is attracts trash.

    GO MIKE VICK!!

  10. Richm2257 says: Sep 26, 2010 7:15 PM

First of all, the guy had barely a 50% completion rate… can we hold off plans for Canton just a bit, please?
Second, I might normally be happy that a guy threw 3 touchdowns and generally is on track for his best season after suffering some “adversity”, but this is Mike Vick….. so I couldn’t care less.
I’m not racist, either; I’ll feel the exact same way about Roethlisburger, when HE returns.

  11. mborz says: Sep 26, 2010 7:17 PM

I was pretty disgusted at the chain of events that landed Vick in prison, but now that he’s getting a second chance, I’m surprised at how much I’m pulling for him.

the Redskins overlooked the Rams today, bites for them, The Eagles and Redskins game should be good, i think the Redskins will come to play, esepcially if Trent Williams (their best tackle) is healthy, Vick so far, so good passing, but i will wait until the end of the year to decide on if he’s a better passer than he was in Atlanta. He had to play tough teams like the Cowboys defense and i think they will use a shadow or spy on Vick. Anyways, good game for Vick, the Jaguars need a quarterback BADLY.

  17. Jag4Life says: Sep 26, 2010 7:35 PM

Why is it that every week the opposing team has a career day? Vick hasn’t scored 4 TD’s since 2006, but leave it to the Jags to give it to him. It’s official, I’ve been the biggest Garrard supporter, but enoughs’s enough. How long do you have to hold the ball? Granted the O-line was not impressive either, but at some point this team has to play like an NFL team.
Del Rio and Dirk Koetter, they both are done too. Run, run, run and on 3rd and 19, let’s run again or throw a 5 yard screen, great. And this is where Vic Ketchman writes expections are too high. Absolutely not. My expectation is to for ONCE move the ball like an NFL team. Not win the Super Bowl any time soon. Just move the ball down the field like an NFL team for once and be competitive. Is that too much to ask for? Pathetic.

I think it’s funny that people hate Vick and REFUSE to forgive him for killing dogs, but those same people want black people to “get over” the abuse we have taken from racist white people for years.
Obviously, not all white people are bad. But my point is if I can forgive those idiots who bombed a Birmingham church killing 4 black girls, who brutally murdered Emmitt Till, and systematically enacted Jim Crow laws, then you “Vick haters” should be able to get over Vick killing some soulless, non-human, dogs.

    So Vick played against:
    Packers prevent defense.
Lions defense – solid front four, but college level past that. Lions gave up 370 yards to a shaky Viking offense.
Jaguars who gave up 477 yards to the Chargers last week.
Forgive me if I am not impressed.
Now he gets the Redskins who have given up an average of 470 yards in their first two games and let the Rams put up 30 points and 365 yards.
Bold prediction says he will do good against the Skins too.

Yeah, but none of us here actually did any of that. I mean, if a black person were to tell me that I owe them something, whether it’s an apology or something else, because slavery was prevalent over 150 years ago in a country that I just happened to be born in, then I’d tell them they’re an idiot.
I don’t look at the actions of a person and say “This race did this.” I look at them and say “This person did this.” Racism isn’t about being mean to other people, it’s about focusing on race (and this is exactly what people who complain about racism are doing).

Big Blue Fan likes to come onto a Eagles story and talk smack, meanwhile your team is horrendous and got destroyed by the Colts last week, and then beaten at home this week by the Titans. Also, by the way, your stadium is in North Jersey, which is the butthole of the United States. Unless you like abandoned warehouses and oil tanks, North Jersey isn’t that scenic.

But some of your grandparents did as well as some of your parents while you were in their arms. Some of you still have the thinking of your forefathers. dude, the reason white ppl are racist towards black ppl.. IS BECAUSE YOU GUYS KEEP BRINGING IT UP!!! goddamn just drop it, not like you had to live as a slave. I bet your grandparents would be turning over in their graves because your complaining over the stupidist shit, what you face is nothing compared to what they had to go through.

No, I got the point, and I agree with you. But I was just expressing an opinion on a tangential point, since the issue of race had been brought up a couple times already.

None of my grandparents were born before 1900, so no.
“As a people white people have perpetuated more pain and anguish on more people than any DESEASE.”
For one thing, the Black Death killed between a quarter and half the population of Europe… so percentage-wise, I’d have to say that even taking your comment at face value, you’re probably wrong. But more importantly, AS A PERSON, I have not done ANY of those things, and yet you are attributing them to me simply because of my race. Congratulations, you’re a racist!

Um Did you watch the Packers game? Vick was dominent when he was in. 1 bad play call was the difference between the Eagles possibly tieing the game . It would have been a different game if he played all 4 quarters. Also look at the difference in the Eagles defense with Stewart Bradley in the game. They let up 53 points with out him in 6 quarters and only 6 points with him in 6 quarters of play. If Bradley didnt get knocked out(literally) of that game it could of ended up differently.

Bull you think you can make up a straight lie and no one will notice you have no clue what your talking about? You obviously didnt watch the game and are just making an assumption bc Vick came in at half. Or you did watch the game and have no clue what defensive formations are and only heard of a prevent from madden. Packers didnt run a prevent once it that game. They blitzed the entire time. The Packers didnt put up 24 then coast the rest of the time. It was back and forth and there defense tried just as hard against the Eagles in the 2nd half as they did against every other team they played this year.

Get off your high horse people. Thinking you people are so perfect. I understand everyone is entitled to their opinions. But the way you people express it is unacceptable and therefor does not deserve publication. 2 years in jail isn’t enough for ya? You want him dead or something?
