Seabass pushes the Raiders from victory to defeat

The Cardinals did everything they could to lose on Sunday, but Sebastian Janiksowski wouldn’t let them.

“Seabass” pushed a 32-yard field goal wide left as time expired, preserving a 24-23 victory for the Cardinals. It was the second missed field for Janikowski in as many drives. He also missed a 58-yarder with 4:36 remaining, and finished 3-of-6 on the day overall.

The Raiders lost the game despite winning the turnover battle by two, and out-gaining Arizona 364-227. Oakland looked like the better team for much of the night, with Bruce Gradkowski (255 yards on 34 attempts) easily outplaying Derek Anderson. Darren McFadden (105 rushing yards) and Louis Murphy (119 receiving yards) also continue to play well for Oakland.

The Cardinals offense went three-and-out twice in the fourth quarter, but the Raiders couldn’t quite take advantage enough. Losing has become a habit in Oakland. And despite a shaky start to the season from Anderson, the Cardinals are 2-1 and tied atop the NFC West.

(And no, we don’t think they will be trying out any kickers in Oakland.)
