Cardinals-Raiders one-liners

Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt after surviving 24-23 against the Raiders: “I’ve
been in a lot of games in this league, a lot of years.  This game probably had as many twists and turns
as any I’ve been involved with
.”

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught the go ahead touchdown.

Beanie Wells’ 75 yards on 14 carries was one big positive from the Cardinals’ victory.

Cardinals cornerback Greg Toler is getting picked on mercilessly, but has mostly held up well.

The headline in the San Francisco Chronicle said it all after Sebastian Janikowski’s missed kick at the buzzer: “Seabust.”

Raiders coach Tom Cable says that the Raiders are tougher mentally: “That is who we are,” coach Tom Cable said. “We are a tough-minded group that can come from behind.”

Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha shut down Larry Fitzgerald, giving up only one catch while he was on him.

Oakland has a troubling 33 penalties through three games.

And he was on him almost every play, it was great to watch.

LT Mario Henderson continues to get calls for boneheaded penalties.
Derek Anderson had an awfully long time in the pocket to make awful decisions/throws. The Raiders are missing something along their D-line.
Jason Campbell would have stood NO CHANCE against Arizona’s blitzes. He needs to stop pouting.

If Nnamdi Asomugha shut down Fitzgerald all game, can someone explain to me why he was stuck playing zone when Fitzgerald scored? It looks almost like Asomugha is folding into part of a cover-3 in the redzone. WTF?

oakland has by far the worst phucking o-line in the history of the game. henderson, walker, carlise and satalle would even be on the roster of any other team, even alabama. motherphucker there bad,so bad i think alex barren and cornell green would be an upgrade.

yes we are missing something on our d-line , its called a blitz. wait till next week when we play houston. rush 4 drop 7 and 7 secs later ,shaub throws the ball to open reciever. our defence has talent, but the play calling is so phucking vanilla we will get shredded next week. no presnap movement, no fake blizes , nothing at all that would create confusion to the qb, and it makes me phucking sick knowing nothing will change. or maybe im the only one who sees this?

The Raiders go into zone defense in the red zone and have done so for the past 6 – 7 years. It’s awful to watch and they are not very good at it as they practice man to man almost exclusively. It’s beyond frustrating. Every TD they give up in the redzone on a pass, they’re in zone coverage for no good reason. Also, they do not blitz in the redzone either so their pass rush is vanilla with just the front 4. It’s a recipe for disaster yet Al thinks he’s a defensive genius. Why do I like this team again? *sigh*

When the Raiders win, they win ugly. When they lose, they lose REALLY ugly. They beat themselves yesterday. It was hard to watch, especially as a longtime Raider fan.

Let’s see darrelle meevis hold Fitzgerald to only one catch and yes dumb coach should have had nmamdi covering him on the td catch….

maybe the chronicle should revise it to
    Alex Shi*
    or
    Mike Singlevictory

I really wish I could answer this for you, but I have to ask the same thing myself.
I am sure it was Huff who game up the TD covering him and Scrabble dropped into a zone to cover the weak side of the short field.
Let it be noted that Fitzgerald did catch one pass while on Awesome Island, and Scrabble did get a PI for arm baring him in the first half. Other than that that, there wasn’t much action from the two.
Fitzgerald is a great receiver, and Scrabble is THE best cover corner in the NFL. Sorry Jets fans, but the truth must be told. “Awesome Island” is a lonelier place than “Revis Island” will ever know.

I can’t decide on which one of our bald polish dudes I’m nore po’d at..
The short feisty one, for getting the delay of game penalty on the goal line..
Or, the tall fat one for missing thatr chip shot…
    AHHRRRRRRRGGGG!

75.6 percent of the world is covered by water and rest is covered by Nnamdi Asomugha!

  14. tango says: Sep 27, 2010 6:33 PM

The Raiders played hard but some cast of rejects did us in. The O line and why do we keep going back to DHB when Murphy is a superior WR ? Same old dead al BS. Go with the guy you drated first instead of the guy who can get seperation catch the fricking ball and get down the field

  15. AbeFreshly says: Sep 27, 2010 7:08 PM

I agree, tango. I think they waste too many downs when they try to force the ball to DHB. The play calling was HORRENDOUS. 3 tips to the redzone =3 pts?? You just know that our numbskull OC is gonna be promoted to HC after Cable gets fired. That is scary. His play calling is just as responsible for this loss as Lex Luthor’s 32 yard CHOKE..
BTW, we all know that Lex Luthor usually costs us 1 game per yr when he misses a key FG. I just KNEW he was going to miss it as he was lining up.
    He choked. Plain & simple.

1raidernation….im glad they called him seabust he needs to know he let us down yesterday i mean come on dude your the richest kicker in the game you do this for a living…yep seabust is about rite.

  17. snnyjcbs says: Sep 27, 2010 7:54 PM

Now Nnamdi is a Shut Down Corner, playing true one on one man coverage he held Fitzgerald to 1 catch. When he covered A Johnson one on one a couple years ago in Oakland Nnamdi held him without a catch until late in the game and then only for a short gain.
There is not another corner in the NFL that can touch him.

It was obvious. He was sweating his ass off all day, probably too hung over to even see the goal posts. I knew he was going to push that last one left. Still, the offense should have punched it in instead of chasing themselves out of the end zone.

Are you happy now raider fans? You got your wish with Bruce Gradshitski! And guess what he sucks too!Why your in love with this guy I will never no he is average at best if not below average. You don’t think so? Look at his numbers they are pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
Ok first of all bruce did everything i thought he would in this game and it was enough to win if we make a few kicks. Yes he and the whole team need to work on red-zone efficiency but that will come with time working together. I’m not sure if you noticed but the past few years this team hasn’t even been able to sustain a drive down the field so bruce throwing for 255 yards and getting us in position to score quite often and putting up 23 points (almost all in the first half) are all major upgrades from where this team was. They will only get better from here as they play together more. That being said you are a moron if you think bruce sucks. He’s a solid option as our qb and gives us the best chance to win.

    Let it go, JaMarcus.
The only numbers that matter are points scored and with Grads at the helm, the Raiders are scoring way more points.
