Shaun Smith faces another accusation of junk-grabbing

Last week, Browns center Alex Mack accused Chiefs defensive tackle Shaun Smith of grabbing Mack’s genitals.

This week, 49es tackle Anthony Davis is making the same allegation.

He tried to feel me,” Davis said of Smith, according to Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com (via ArrowheadPride.com).  “That’s weird, right?”

Davis retaliated, drawing a 15-yard penalty.

Smith was not fined or penalized for last week’s incident.  He wasn’t penalized for this one, either; it remains to be seen whether he’s fined.

looks like his strategy is working, sexually harass until you provoke a penalty. He should try it on the quarter back, do you think he’ll get a roughing call for hands to the head.

The NFL should review last week and this week to see if they see anything. Then a fine will be levied and that should stop this.

I thought this was called a cup check. Unless he is stroking the inside of his thighs, which is bad. If I played an opponent who wasn’t wearing a cup he’d get a fist to the junk every other play. A closed fist though, not an open one.

  38. Steve W. says: Sep 27, 2010 9:52 AM

I really don’t get how Jeff Garcia got brought up in some of these comments. Aside from him not having played in San Fran for quite a while, didn’t he marry a playmate or something? I’m sure he lets her do all the junk grabbing.

Sounds like somebody’s confused regarding their sexuality.
After it happened, teammates overheard Davis saying… “stop it some more”

  40. Black QB White RB says: Sep 27, 2010 10:23 AM

Holy crap what must be going on in Smith’s locker room? How are his teammates reacting?
Further, how does this compare with the not-quite-harassment- of Inez Sainz over in the Jets Camp…
And If I can think of anything hilarious that hasn’t already been said, I’ll be back

Roger Goodell says “Ok Anthony I know how tough this must be for you but I want you to point out on this doll where he touched you.”
Anthony Davis takes a deep shaky breath as he points to the dolls special purpose. He then begins pulling on his ear lobe as he subconsciously sucks his thumb.

  43. David LeFebvre says: Sep 27, 2010 10:51 AM

Both complaints have been from players who haven’t been in the league for long. I was under the impression that this sort of thing happens all the time when there are piles at the end of plays, especially if there’s a fumbled football at stake. Eye gouging, cratch grabbing/twisting, punching, slapping, scraping – anything you can do to get the football while you’re out of the ref’s view. It’s dirty, shameful behavior, but fairly normal during the course of the game, from what I hear. Maybe Smith is the only one doing this, or maybe he just happens to be the first one both these guys came across in their young NFL careers.

It’s only weird if you make it weird.

  45. Manbearpig says: Sep 27, 2010 1:13 PM

This is common, just seldom reported. For example, Jon Gruden did this to both Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning earlier this year. Neither complained, as both enjoyed it immensely.

I believe Smith might have been listening to that song from the NFL’s ticket exchange commercial.
Grab it in the Night! Grab it in the Day.

U betta Snatch & Grab it! Snatch and Grab it!

    ——————————————————
If he couldn’t switch positions and had to play QB Shaun Smith would break the single game sack record.
I can hear announcer Kevin Harlan giving commentary on it
“I dont know whats going on, but it appears Jeff Garcia is seeking out Shaun Smith. And why does Garcia continue to hold onto Smith when the play is over.”
