Another Chargers long snapper goes down

Being the Chargers’ long snapper remains the most dangerous job in America.

San Diego picked up their fourth long snapper in two weeks on Tuesday, signing Ethan Albright.  He was picked up to replace Ryan Neil on injured reserve.

Neil joins David Binn and James Dearth as victims of the Chargers long snapping curse.

The team also announced Tuesday they signed safety Quinton Neal and cornerback Dante Hughes.  They waived running back Curtis Brinkley and placed linebacker James Holt on injured reserve.

Brinkley’s departure (he should wind up on the practice squad) is a good sign that Ryan Mathews will return to action this week.  Mathews said he was pain-free after a workout Monday.

There are 12 regular season games left. Add three playoff games to that and the Chargers will go through as many long snappers this year as seasons played by David Binn.

    December 5th baby!
That’s when the Raiders walk into SD and lay out the whole freakin team.
    Just like last year.

Ok, third article this afternoon where PFT mentions players (Ethan Albright) but doesn’t give us what other teams they’ve played for. That info is helpful and please return to adding that in.

You don’t get anything else from Ethan Albright apart from Long Snapping, but he is really good at that. The Redskins should never have let him go.
I can’t see the point of getting younger at the position, unless you want the guy to do more than long snap.
