Any time a friend of mine insists on paying for lunch or dinner, half of the joke is in threatening to order Steak and Lobster. This is no different from that but on a millionaire scale.
Some of you are acting like they literally put money in a pile and set fire to it, or bought an expensive car and then ran it off a building. This is a situation where nobody loses, especially the waitstaff which probably went home with giant tip money.
