I hate to say this but I agree with some of what DanRooney says. Peyton did not with that superbowl. Rhodes and Addai carried the offense.

They lost that first game on purpose. They didn’t want to hear the media talk yet again if they can go undefeated, how many games can they win, should they be sitting players at the end. etc. Now they can play until they secure the bye week, then set whoever they want the last couple weeks of the year, and let the Jets make it to the playoffs again.

And Peyton’s SB ‘he won’ was because of his D and run game. Everyone who watched it knew that Dominic Rhodes and Rex Grossman were co-SB MVP winners. Manning really goes from an unbeatable QB in the regular season to Joe Flacco in the playoffs. It’s embarrassing. The alleged ‘greatest QB to play’ still has the same amount of rings as Dilfer and his autistic brother.

A goddamn good defense can slow down Manning , Brady or anyone else and then without a decent D of your own even the best can lose.
I used to heap scorn on Manning over playoff losses.
Now I’m a little less stupid.
I’m perfectly happy with Brady but I no longer deny Mannings greatness.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. This guy is a stead as anyone. He takes young guys and shows confidence in them thus giving them the confidence they need to be successful. What a great player/coach/role model. The league needs more guys like Peyton but unfortunately there is only one.

My beloved Colts are indeed a work in progress. The team that went to the SB last year has been chewed up by injuries to O line, WRs, LBs and DBs. I don’t have my hopes real high but they are showing themselves to be a scrappy bunch. GO HORSE
