PFTV's Week Four game of the week

When selecting the PFTV game of the week, we’re usually partial to the NBC offering.

This time around, however, one of the Sunday games to be played in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (which, unlike Ohio, really is a Commonwealth) is too good to overlook.

The Ravens visit the Steelers in a battle for the top of the AFC North.  It’s the last game the Steelers will play without quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Unless he’s suspended again.  Or injured.

Joey Flacco has the weight of Ravens Nation on his shoulder this week. It will be interesting to see how he does.

It’s OK to be obvious sometimes.
No one cares about anything except McScab returning to Philly.

Well, at least you picked my team, Florio.
    GO STEELERS!!

You mean a battle for the Steelers to keep the top of the AFCN.
The Ravens, even if they win, need to hope Cleveland beats the Bengals. Otherwise it’s a tie.

  5. Texanadian says: Sep 30, 2010 3:38 PM

gonna be a great game, though i’d rather see philly vs. washington

  6. Floriohatescincy says: Sep 30, 2010 3:40 PM

Hey dumbass, depending on the outcome of both AFCN games, it could put the Bengals on top of the AFCN, but I shouldn’t expect a hypocritical myopic fool to go that in depth should I.

Why do you call him McScab? Curious.

We finished the no-Ben season 4-0? When did we play the game?
I think we have a slight edge because this is a home game and Flacco has had a rough season thus far. I wouldn’t count pre-hatched chickens if we were playing the worst team in football, let alone the Ravens.
As for running the table … I’ll believe that when we’re 19-0. But don’t bank on it. 16-0 is a nice accomplishment, but if you can’t win the Big One, it’s pointless. If a team were to do it, I’d want it to be mine … and I’d really want it to be now. But count me among those who don’t believe it can be done.

FACT: So far this season, Pittsburgh’s defense has not give up a single touchdown while opposition starter has played.
    Falcons: No Touchdowns
Titans: Only touchdown scored when Kerry Collins was in (Starter Vince Young yanked after 3rd qtr)
Buccaneers: Only touchdown scored when Josh Johnson was in (Starter Josh Freeman was yanked).

Rice isn’t as good as Chris Johnson and he only managed 34 yds. Boldin is going to be looking over his shoulder for Polamalu all day.
And Flacco’s just not going to get it done. James Harrison will fix his uni-brow.
Steelers won four of the past five meetings against the Ravens and have won four in a row and nine of the past 10 at Heinz Field.
    Steelers 20- Ratbirds 9

Ravens will have a field day with the Steelers awful OL= Ravens by 20.
This is not the game of the week.

  14. Holeinone09 says: Sep 30, 2010 4:05 PM

I completely agree, this is THE game of the week. Two very good teams in the same division with a long history and great defenses. Ben not playing makes it closer of course. But, with the way the Steeler defense and Ravens offense have been playing, and this being at Heinz Field, I expect the Steelers will win a close one. I was very encouraged at how well the Steeler offense played last week, even with some help by the Bucs defense. I cannot wait to watch this game, wish my opponent fans good luck but hope you lose, and hope you enjoy the game!
Now, as to whether or not the Steelers can run the table. Mike Florio is very bullish on the Steelers right now, and with good reason. Worst case is they are 3-1 without Ben. There is no reason to believe Ben will perform at a lower level than he has in the past, which generally has been superb. He will start playing in the 5th game of the season in perfect health, taking zero hits so far. He will have something to prove to the rest of the league because of his suspension.
Their tougher games will be Baltimore, New Orleans, New England and the Jets, with the last two at home.
Assuming no serious injuries and Ben coming back in his normal playing form, the Steelers should win 13 games this year. Whether or not they can run the table remains to be seen.
    GO STEELERS!!

  15. Fantasia says: Sep 30, 2010 4:12 PM

I hope the Steelers win. But, I’d feel a lot better about are chances if Roethlisberger was at the helm.

Watch Charlie BOTCH get his head bashed in. Flacco will do just fine but Charlie the tuna is in deep sh@t. The last time he started against the Ravens they busted him up REAL BAD.

uh- No, it’s not. If Bal’more wins it’s at best a 2 way tie and probably a 3 way tie.

The media is making a big deal out of McNab returning to Philly… I wouldd watch the Eagles play to see Vick… but I never cared to watch McNab…. The Steelers Ravens game is always a goodd tough hitting game and should be fun to watcch as always !! Steelers 20 Balt 14

  21. Art Van Delay's brother says: Sep 30, 2010 4:57 PM

Steelers will win easily. Seriously ex-Browns fans, your crowing about your team after barely getting by the new Browns at home? You’re thumping your chest after Peyton Hillis lit up your defense for 143 yards.
A quick fact to think about. Pittsburgh had second and third stringers in at the start of the fourth quarter at Tampa. They were already resting players as your defense was getting mowed over by Cleveland.
Series record Pittsburgh 19 wins and 11 losses. Here comes number 20.

  22. Steelers Defense says: Sep 30, 2010 5:01 PM

The Ravens front seven are very tough but their secondary is weak. The Steelers stopped Chris Johnson and will do the same to Rice. The Steelers have the BEST overall defense in the NFL. Look for the Steelers Defense to turn 1 INT into a touchdown. Charlie patch to get knocked out and Leftwich to come in and lead the Steelers to a victory. And, Hinds Ward to get a great hit on Ray (SLICE & DICE) Lewis. This will be a VERY VIOLENT GAME!!!

  23. Nobi says: Sep 30, 2010 5:21 PM

Ok. Correct me if I’m wrong. But if the Ravens win and Bengals lose they would be 3-1 and atop the AFCN with a tie-breaker over Pittsburgh?

  24. Deb says: Sep 30, 2010 5:21 PM

@AttackRaven … And you get a vicarious thrill when players are injured? Wow, aren’t you a tough guy.
@blester01 … ROFL Got to appreciate a man who has a sense of humor!
@Phil Dunphy … Funny, that’s exactly how I feel about the Ravens.
@Reginald … This is a rematch of the 08 AFC Championship between division rivals who are always in contention. Many adult football fans actually enjoy defensive play rather than just tuning in to see the boys under center. That’s one reason Steelers/Ravens games always earn high ratings. Yes, it will be interesting to see McNabb face his former team. But the Steelers/Ravens game is more significant in terms of potential post-season ramifications.

  25. Bubby Brister says: Sep 30, 2010 5:40 PM

If you think Eagles/Redskins is the game of the week you should stop watching football.

  26. RAVNMAN says: Sep 30, 2010 5:40 PM

This will be a great game. Everyone is making a big deal about Big Ben being out. We have seen in the past that the Steelers can live without Ben, it’s Polamalu being out that kills them. The same is true with the Ravens and Reed, 3 more games before he gets back. They really miss his big play ability.
This is the best rivalry in the NFL and the best game of the week.
Eagles/Redskins? Aside from the soap opera McNabb thing, not much of a game. The Redskins are horrible, especially for the oldest team in the league!!

Ravens @ Steelers is 1:00 P.M. EST. Redskins @ Eagles is 4:00 P.M. EST. Pennsylvania wins twice?
The Ravens need the game more than Pittsburgh does. Pittsburgh really doesn’t care what the Ravens need. I don’t like to make predictions but the Steelers defense seems to be on a mission this year.
    GO STEELERS!

No moron, he’s saying that all the TD’s have come in GARBAGE time when our Defense was playing prevent and just taking time off the clock. Hell, Tampa only scored on our second and third stringers.
The point is we have been so dominate in our performance that coaches have yanked their starters for fear of injury the last 2 games.

Joe Flacco has never beat the Steelers when Clutch-lis-berger was at quarterback. The only time Flaccid has beaten the Steelers is last year in OT when Dixon was starting. Maybe he’ll get #2 w/ Batch @ the helm? We’ll see!
Looking forward to a slobber knocker game this week! This is the best rivalry right now in the NFL because these two teams are always contenders. Get outta here with your Philly vs. Washington garbage….I can respect Philly b/c they have been consistently good, but Washington just lost last week to STL LOL! Its hard to remember last time Washington was even respectable
