Revis out for Sunday at Buffalo

When the Jets go to Buffalo on Sunday, they won’t have cornerback Darrelle Revis.

Per multiple beat writers, Revis said Thursday that he won’t be playing.

Revis strained his hamstring during a Week Two game against the Patriots, only days after tweaking it during practice.

Revis, who has acknowledged that the hamstring injury traces to his absence from camp (which traces to his desire for more money), missed Sunday night’s win over the Dolphins.

Frankly, the Jets experienced a significant improvement in their performance after Revis exited the Pats game.  If/when he returns at 100 percent, they’ll likely be even better.

Gets his money and out he goes. I wonder if he has been getting advice from Hanesworth

Must be so glad they’re paying this guy so much cash to be better without him….

Having paid this douchebag all that money after his “still under contract” holdout, I wonder if the Jets feel like asking for some of their money back ……… after all, he WAS “working out” on his own, right?

Lee Eveans should tear it up?
Atleast for fantasy my guess is the Bills will still need to pass alot.

  5. Massappeal says: Sep 30, 2010 3:23 PM

They will be better when he returns even though they were better when he left.
    That is a true Florio.

Bills beat the Jets last year after Sanchez threw 5 INTs. Revis not playing doesnt matter nearly as much as how sanches plays on sunday.

$$$ My sources tell me he was injured before he signed his new deal – He just played through it and was well enough to grind through the physical knowing how much was on the line $$$

The Jets don’t play an elite trio of WR’s until week 8. I wouldn’t play him until he’s ready.

this is why i don’t like darrelle revis. he acknowledges that this happened because he held out, but he doesn’t see this as his fault. he acts like the jets should have given in sooner. PUNK. if he holds out again, after seeing how this plays out, i don’t think the jets should keep him next time around. hes a distraction.

    More like:
Revis, who has acknowledged that the hamstring injury traces to his absence from camp (which traces to his team’s unwillingness to award him a fair contract), missed Sunday night’s win over the Dolphins.

Does it really matter? It’s Buffalo. Kinda like a 4th preseason game…rest anyone with a scratch, hangnail, case of the hiccups, or, ahem, hangover.

  12. CT Pats Fan says: Sep 30, 2010 3:44 PM

Wait, that doesn’t make sense….they were better without him in the Pats game, so when he comes back, they’ll be….better?
I’ll float one out there – as good as Revis is (and he’s DAMN good), the Jets should have waited a few weeks into the season to see how the team performed.
Ryan doesn’t give himself enough credit – Revis blossomed in Ryan’s scheme, and they could probably have made it to 3-1 without him (which, they’ll be, after they trounce the Bills on Sunday!). That would have been some nice leverage to go back to the negotiating table with, no?
Anywho….with my compliments out of the way, I’ll go back to hating :-)

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nickv360, did you just awake from a year-long coma? Revis violated his existing, enforceable contract by not coming to training camp.
Maybe you missed it…this was discussed on PFT in brief one day.
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m still dumbfounded that Florio said something flattering a bout one of the Jets.

Tell me something jack , how is holding out for 16.5 mill per,and only getting 11.5 mil per ,winning out …unless you cant count the Jets won that hold out battle

Coach Ryan put him on the field with a hamstring injury and had him race up and down the field with Moss. These coaches are to blame for poor use of a great player.

It took Tom Brady scoring 3 TDs to beat the Bills last week. This is a different offense with Ryan Fitzpatrick in there.

Bills suck so bad it won’t matter! I am unfortunately an Ills fan waiting for old ralph to become worm food, so my beloved team can get a real owner who will hire a competent GM & coach……

You will be eating those words after Sunday. Buffalo WILL beat the Jets. Sanchez will throw three interceptions, Lee Evans/Roscoe Parrish and CJ Spiller will have a combined 350+ yards with 4tds and Lynch/Jackson/Spiller will combine for 200+ yards. Oh yeah, and Bart Scott will SH-T his panties after Buffalo’s O-line b-tch slaps his a-s around all day for his poor choice of words. Go Bills!!

That’s what you get when you pay a man that cannot honor is contract and sat on his ass during camp so he wouldn’t have to. He’s above the team, and now is hurting it, badly. He’s the most talented loser on earth, although his talent will never keep up to his mouth. ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-

Jet fan here. It is a divisional game on the road. Those are hard to win.
Buffalo’s offense is reborn and the Jets will have to have just as good an effort as they had last week.
