Hartley will have to win his job back from Carney

After a sluggish start to the 2010 season from one of the heroes of the Saints’ 2009 postseason, kicker Garrett Hartley has lost his job, though he is still employed.

Per Ed Werder of ESPN, 46-year-old (I always like it when an NFL player is older than me) John Carney will kick for the Saints until Hartley wins his job back.

When that happens, Carney apparently will continue to be part of the team, which means that the Saints will be operating with a 52-man roster this year.
