Jets dominate Bills everywhere but scoreboard in first half

By most measures, the Jets dominated the Bills through the first 30 minutes at a blustery Ralph Wilson Stadium. The scoreboard only shows them leading the game 17-7, however.

The Jets held the ball for more than 21 minutes, outgained the Bills 261-104 and forced the game’s only turnover, but their defense packed things in a little early and gave up a touchdown to the Bills, Ryan Fitzpatrick hit David Nelson twice for 48 yards to set up a touchdown pass to a totally unguarded David Martin with 33 seconds to play in the half.

The Bills drive came just after Mark Sanchez found Braylon Edwards for a 41 yard touchdown, a play that seemed to finally get the Jets moving in the right direction. They scored a touchdown on their opening possession, but then found themselves moving the ball in fits and starts without being able to generate enough momentum to run away with the game.

They did control it, but that might not be the case much longer. The Bills get the ball coming out of the locker room and will likely be full of confidence after finally finding their footing against the Jets defense.
