The wild, weird NFC West

Four weeks in, the NFC West continues to be the weakest division in football.

But the team that wins the NFC West gets a home playoff game.  And if the team wins that home playoff game, the team goes on the road with a boost of momentum to play a team that was on a bye week, and that possibly will be caught flat-footed in the divisional round.

And who knows?  Maybe that NFC West team will do what the Cardinals did two years ago, and land in the Super Bowl.

One of the four teams in the NFC West will have a chance to do it.  For a closer look on which of the four it may be, here’s the first PFTV segment of the week.

The 49ers got as good a chance as anyone. But I am picking the Seaturkeys on the basis of them picking up Lynch

The NFC West takes a lot of heat for being a week division, but in the last five Superbowls, they have represented the NFC TWICE, with the South, East and North only once.
Why is it when everyone in the NFC East is 2-2, it’s because it’s such a smash mouth division, but when it’s the NFC West, it’s because the teams are so weak?

Nice pick for the Rams to win the division. I was thinking the same. That way my Redskins could come back for a little revenge

Didn’t you pick the Skins to win the super bowl last year?

I think the SeaHawks now have the go ahead with the Lynch trade they pulled off, Pete seems like he wants to give away the whole lot but hey what they hell he has got three stud guys who could go house and Caroll has always been known to use more than one RB, they got the EXP at QB and Just seems like they are going to pull out on top that devision!

The Niners will win the division. The ball won’t continually bounce against them. They should be 3-1 right now and are the best team in the division. They outplayed the Saints, the Falcons and the Seahawks but lost to all three. Their schedule is much easier from now on.

If Hasselbeck pulls his head out and stops throwing picks and batted balls , the Hawks should win a game or 2 on the road this season and win the division . But that’s a big if …
The Cards have no QB unless what’s-his-name turns into Tony Romo or Tom Brady , and the 49′ers are toast ; they’d have to win 8 of the next 12 games just to go 8-8 . Not to mention they’re the biggest dysfunctional team in the league right now . So much for pre-season favorites …
The Rams – now there’s a team that could make some noise . It’s about time all those high first round draft picks started paying dividends . I’m very impressed with Bradford . But it’s still hard to believe the Rams are ready to take the division title just yet …
Picking up Lynch should help the Hawks running game out immensely , and maybe if Carroll stops playing roulette with the damn offensive line we’ll get some consistent play there . Here’s hoping …

49ers will shock the division IMO… This division is too weak, their schedule is too easy from here on out, and shooting themselves in the foot will only last for so long. It wouldn’t surprise me to see whoever wins this division have a 7-9 record, it’s a f****** disgrace to the league. I’m embarrassed to be a fan of a team in this division…

Only way the 9ers win the division is if they 7-9 and the rest of the teams suck. But I don’t see that happening. And for that to happen the 9ers would have to win both games (not going to happen) vs AZ and the Rams. The winner of the division is either going 8-8 or 9-7. And with the 9ers starting 0-4 they would be hard pressed to get to 7-9 let alone 8-8.
