With Green Bay linebacker Nick Barnett reportedly set to miss the rest of the season with a wrist injury, the team has added to the active roster another linebacker.
Maurice Simpkins has been promoted from the practice squad, the team announced earlier in the hour. He takes the spot created by the placement of safety Morgan Burnett on injured reserve.
The Pack will backfill Simpkins’ spot on the practice squad by adding Johnny Williams, an undrafted free agent in 2009, who has spent time with the Jags, Steelers, and Broncos.
