Kurt Warner feels “a little responsible” for Cardinals situation

On Sunday, Cardinals quarterback Max Hall will become the first undrafted rookie to start at his position this early in the season since the 1987 player’s strike, according to research done by Bob Young of the Arizona Republic.

The Cardinals offense is a mess, and their former quarterback feels guilty.

“You can’t help but feel a little responsible,” Warner told Paula Bolvin of the Arizona Republic. “You don’t know if you should feel that way, but I’m still connected to the team. I did what I felt was right for my situation, yet there’s also the part that wishes I could help.”

Then again, maybe the Cardinals aren’t in such bad shape. SI.com’s Peter King has an intriguing profile on Hall’s rise to the starting job. He may not have the biggest arm, but he’s accurate, mature, makes good decisions, and works hard. Remind you of anyone?

“Max Hall is Kurt Warner 12 years ago,’' Warner told King. “Nobody expected me to make it when I showed up in an NFL camp.

No pressure, buddy.
