Running backs healthy for Rams-Lions

Running backs Steven Jackson (groin) and Jahvid Best (turf toe) have both dealt with early-season injury problems. They are both active for Sunday’s Rams-Lions game.

Best was listed as questionable on the injury report, but will start against a porous Rams run defense. Jackson was listed as probable, so he was never in danger of sitting out against an even worse run defense in Detroit.

Tight end Tony Scheffler, limited this week in practice due to a concussion, is another notable active for the Lions. He will start.

Inactive for the Lions:

Third quarterback Matthew Stafford
Running back Maurice Morris
Linebacker DeAndre Levy
Offensive tackle Jason Fox
Offensive tackle Jamon Meredith
Running back Aaron Brown
Defensive end Willie Young
Defensive end Lawrence Jackson

Inactive for the Rams:

Running back Chauncey Washington
Tight end Billy Bajema
Tight end Michael Hoomanawanui
Offensive tackle Renardo Foster
Linebacker Chris Chamberlain
Cornerback Kevin Dockery
Defensive tackle Clifton Ryan
Defensive tackle Dorell Scott

Wide receiver Laurent Robinson is active, though it’s unclear if he’ll resume starting opposite Mark Clayton. The Rams went 2-0 when Robinson was nursing a foot injury in Weeks Three and Four. Brandon Gibson has been starting in the meantime.
