Overall nice comments from others about Griffin. he may not be a Pro Bowl CB, but he plays the game the right way — making up for lack of speed and athletic ability with good technique, aggressiveness and willingness to make a tackle.
Funny how CB was so overloaded in the preseason that Benny Sapp was traded because he might not make the team, yet the two projected outside corners in the nickle (with Antoine moving to the slot) now have knee issues. Now it’s up to Lito Sheppard to rely on his veteran savy and Asher Allen to make a step up.
As far as the Vikings, they really aren’t in that bad of shape if they can get the blitz up worked out to get the offense rolling.
When looking at the schedule and seeing where the most likely 4-6 losses would be to have a 10-12 win division champion team, the games at the Saints and Jets looked like two of the most likely losses (along with the game with the Patriots and at Green Bay). So only the Dolphin loss at home was one that hurts. But Green Bay is injury depleted and Chicago isn’t that good despite the wins, that they can make up that one game. This is a division that 9 or 10 wins is all it takes.

Jamal Lewis did pretty well with 2 surgically repaired ACLs… it might take a while to get back up to 100% but then he should be OK

Wow! The viQueens were Favred again last night by Captain Choker. Now they are going to lose Griffin, now that is a major bummer.
The old Favret has tendonitis issues, which of course will be his excuse for poor play down the stretch…Jets recall this one. Well after choking and throwing ill advised interceptions on the final plays of his last 2 championship games (Packers, Vikings) what better way to go out than as the Tin Man without an oiling can.

The Packers were screwed by injuries in 08′, screwed the first half of 09′ and are getting screwed again. The Bears were screwed last season. Injuries really are the difference for most teams in this league. It sucks.

Hate to see any NFL player go on IR, it sucks.
I prefer to look for the positive, at least he will have a front row seat for the next 12 week run of the Minneapolis circus starring Ziggy as the ring leader, Col Klink as a clown, BrINT Favre as the roaring lion, Randy Moss as the tight rope walker, Adrian Petersen as the guy who follows the elephant around the room with the shovel and lastly T Jack as the lady with the beard.
The trophy case will remain as empty in their 50th Anniversary season as in the first 49. By hey, at least this is more entertaining than last year by a country mile.

Tough break for a tough kid. He worked very hard and got back a bit early and was playing very well. Hopefully Cook can stop tearing his knee up and this team can get a little stability at the corner spot.
Injuries and luck are the two biggest factors in this sport and the two you can least control. Hopefully the Vikings can turn the tide here with some of these upcoming games.

I don’t care what team you are pulling for; rooting for players to get hurt is classless except if you are an Eagles fan.
I can’t stand the Vikings, but it’s too bad for them that Griffin went down and is out for the year. From everything I’ve read the guy busted his ass to return, but then blew out the other knee.
Maybe I haven’t been paying attention but it just seems like this year in the North a lot more guys are getting dinged up.

This hurts so much. Our two biggest weaknesses this year have been OL and DBs. Ive always had high hopes for Griffin, tough to see him go down again.
That being said, the Vikings really need to try to trade again for a DB. Allen Cook and Sheppard are a good #3 4 and 5, we need a #2.

Crap! He was playing really well this season. He was doing some pretty good work against Edwards and Holmes.
Hopefully, Chris Cook won’t be out too long. Asher Allen is okay, but not great.
Well, Leslie Frazier has done a pretty good job this year so far. I am sure he can juggle some players around for next week.
I had a feeling this might be the case. He took off his helmet right after he was injured. It was like he knew right then.

That sucks, especially because his teammate, the friggin DIVA, keeps milking his FAKE injuries.

The DIVA is only hurt when convenient; as an excuse for poor play (although he would NEVER uses it as an excuse); immediately following a TD throw, and subsequent high-five.
Seriously though, I feel bad for Griffing – he seems like a good kid – and he doesn’t deserve his year to end like this.
