Raiders and Chargers both seem a bit low. The Chargers have a rough ST, and played sloppy against the Raiders. But watching that game…they will be in form soon. Raiders had a huge win in that game. They are improving. Defense is shaky though.
Most dangerous teams, I think, are Titans and Giants. They’re ranked around where they should be…but these teams can beat anyone (any of those top 5-10′s included) on their good weeks. Get them in the playoffs, and I’d be nervous to play em.

Yes, in the US offense & defense are spelled with an S. However, in some other countries (Canada, England) the words are properly spelled with a C. I think it’s called the Queen’s (no, not the Vikings, but that lady in Brittain) English.

You got the Eagles at 15 I think they are better then that but they do deserve to be ranked there. At least until they can get there qb, offensive line, and injury situations figured out.

I agree 100%. The reason why the Jets running game is still better than the ravens though, is because the Jets O-Line is a much better unit than the ravens o-line is.
And for you to call Sanchez captain checkdown? Well I dont know about that, you must not have watched any Jets games since week 1. Sanchez has been playing much smarter and playing better football than Flacco since week 1.

You guys are morons. I’m a Bears fan and I can’t in good conscious rank them ahead of the Giants.
And why rank the Saints so high? Because they won the superbowel LAST YEAR? They are also the most flip flopping team in the NFL, literally going from first to worst to first to next to worst to first in their division. They lost to the cardinals. To quote Al Bundy “it’s a very important game. If you lose to the Cardinals they kick you out of the league”
The Redskins and Giants should in all fairness be ranked ahead of their division rivals.
I guess head to head wins don’t show who the better team is like they used to.

Just like last week on primetime they quickly showed the raisers beating up on the chargers and tom jackson quote was “UGHHH THIS IS SUCH A SHAME” He puts his head in the palm of his hands and trent dilfer rubs his back! Thats a true strory!

Every time I see this column I think this is last weeks’s old ratings. We are now in week 6, so why not call it the week 6 ratings instead?
You overreact to each week worse then the oddsmakers. The NYG destroyed the bears and are ranked below them. Same for SD who destroyed ARI.
CIN made a stupid coaching decision or they would have won by 7 and now they are 8 spots below the team that beat them. Please.

im curious…. the Cardinals ALMOST beat the steelers in the SB, so does that make them better than pitt that year? the colts ALMOST beat the saints last year in the SB, does that mean that the colts are the better team? Doesn’t make much sense when you apply the same principles to the JETS/RAVENS game either… the ravens won, in NY, in front of the entire nation on ESPN….yet the jets are the better team still…….hmmmm

Hahahhaah! More excuses! I love it. Revis dragging Mason to the ground. Bogus defensive holding. Cromartie getting beat and grabbing onto Boldin. Bogus!! What were there 5 or 6 “bogus” PI/holding penalties on the jets D in that game? Sucks to lose at home doesn’t it? Must have been a reason why. How about your team played with no discipline? Not that the calls were “bogus”.
What was bogus (if I were a Jets fan) was Keller running out of bounds on 4th down before the 1st down marker to end the game. That’s just bogus!!
You can’t even compare those PI/holding calls in the Jets game to the obviously bogus roughing the passer call on Suggs in the Bengals game. That’s just bogus.

It’s amazing how pathologically delusional the Charger fans are. “We’ll win the AFC West, then ramrod the Ravens, Steelers, Colts and Jets in the playoffs!” “We have Phillip by god Rivers!” and so on.
Special teams alone will lose them 8 games this year.
SD will come in third behind the Chiefs AND Raiders.

Don’t really care about who winds up on top of these arbitrary power rankings, but I do have to leave one comment.
Steelers fan: “Yeah, we lost to the Ravens at home, but we’ve got Ben Roethlisberger back now, we could beat them if we played them again!”
Jets fan: “Yeah, we lost to the Ravens at home, but we’ve got Santonio Holmes back now, we could beat them if we played them again!”
Week 7, future Hall of Famer Ed Reed returns to the field for the Ravens. A team whose main criticism right now is a lack of turnovers forced by the defense will get back their top defensive playmaker. Ask Pittsburgh how much different a defense can be without its All-Pro safety.
So don’t be so quick to assume that getting one of your stars back from suspension is going to make the difference in the next meeting. Baltimore’s not at full strength either… but they will be.

For all the people yelling about the Jets being ranked over the Ravens, its not about one game between the two teams. I.e. this isn’t “how to playoff spots get determined between two teams”.
The Jets have played consistently better since that game, than the Ravens have.
The Ravens -almost- lost the Browns, needed to come from behind to beat the Steelers, and lost to a not very good Cincy team.
The Jets have decisively set the tone for almost every game they’ve played.
The sum is greater than the whole of the parts, as the saying goes.
On an unrelated note, 20 is way to high for Dallas.
I’m thoroughly disgusted with that football team right now. Few things are worse than watching the team you love, play like a junior varsity sheet show. (Florio/Greg, don’t you dare censor me for that, since you used that very same spelling in your “Tom Brady didnt know Moss was being” traded article). Inept does not even begin to describe this team.

Captan Check Down manages 5 Field Goals. LT is the one reason why they are playing better this year. Everything else is the same, except Revis is playing like Ellis Island…Open to any WR with a hope and a dream.
Oh yeah…Mark can at least throw the slant sometimes, just not late in games when the throw goes flying.

Florio You pick every week against the Bears. You are not too smart or lucky, since they are 4 and 1, you have been right 20% of the time. I could pick better by flipping a coin and be far more accurate than you. It could ketch up to them in January , but will you still pick against them every week until then? Wake up- if they fix the O line, they are a good team.

Power rankings are written by guys before the season starts who then they spend the next 4 months trying to put a spin the whole thing to show that their pre-season picks were really correct like this is some stupid BCS selection.
The standings is all that matters.
