That video of Brett Favre taking a football to the real balls at practice happened today. But, according to the official injury report, Favre didn’t practice Wednesday, due to his ankle and elbow.
Given that the Vikings are operating on a short week, Favre’s absence isn’t a shock. If he misses practice on Thursday, however, it could be time to start thinking about Tarvaris Jackson for Sunday against the Cowboys.
Other players with recognizable names who missed practice on Wednesday include: Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon (knee), Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (rib), Eagles quarterback Mike Vick (rib), Ravens running back Ray Rice (knee), Patriots running back Fred Taylor (knee), Browns running back Peyton Hillis (thigh), Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant (ribs, ankle), Lions running back Jahvid Best (toe), Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (shoulder), Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka (neck), Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora (knee), Texan linebacker Brian Cushing (knee), Texans defensive end Mario WIlliams (shoulder), Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (concussion), Packers linebacker Clay Matthews (hamstring), Saints running back Pierre Thomas (ankle), Saints running back Reggie Bush (fibula), Bucs tight end Kellen Winslow (foot), Jets linebacker Calvin Pace (foot), Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis (hamstring), Bears linebacker Lance Briggs (ankle), Colts running back Donald Brown (hamstring), Colts receiver Austin Collie (foot), Colts receiver Pierre Garcon (hamstring), Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney (not injury related), Redskins tackle Trent Williams (toe, knee), Redskins linebacker Rocky McIntosh (concussion), Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth (not injury related), Chargers running back Ryan Mathews (ankle), and Chargers receiver Legedu Naanee (hamstring).

If Favre had to choose between selling his kids on the black market this week or sitting out the game to keep them safe……….he would gladly say his goodbyes to the kids before he’d ever willingly sit and ruin his precious streak.

“If he misses practice on Thursday, however, it could be time to start thinking about Tarvaris Jackson for Sunday against the Cowboys.”
