Dungy says no to his alma mater

Last month, former Bucs and Colts coach Tony Dungy’s name emerged as a potential candidate to become the next head coach at his alma mater, the University of Minnesota.

Dungy indicated at the time that he wouldn’t be interested.  I am loving my time at Football Night in America
and I’m spending time in Tampa with my family,” Dungy told Dan Patrick.  “So I have too much on
my
plate to even think about any coaching job including
my alma mater
.”

Now that the University of Minnesota officially has dumped coach Tim Brewster, the Golden Gophers have contacted Dungy.  And Dungy has politely declined.  But Dungy apparently will be helping the school find its successor.

John Taylor of CFT has the details.

Look for Dungy to push for his old friend Herm Edwards.

You can bet their next coach will be black if Dungy is involved in the search. I’m not being a racist, I’m just saying Dungy only hires black people. Who can honestly tell me that the best possible replacement for Dungy was Jim Caldwell?

I’m shocked Florio didn’t mention the report Frazier is interested in the job.

Too busy sticking his ugly face into matters that don’t concern him.

If Dungy takes another coaching job who will replace him as America’s moral conscience?

    Herm or Leslie Frazier

Moral conscience alright. I bet he’s loving the time with his family, except the member who committed suicide because of Dungy’s lack of empathy over homosexuality.
    Good job, America’s Moral Compas!

Doesn’t want to tarnish the image Manning built for him.

Tony Dungy is the Obama of the NFL and NBC, all talk ZERO production! Had to have Jon Gruden finish his job for him and then go scam off the table that had been set by Jim Mora. He should have been a better father and things wouldn’t have gone bad for him.

Doesn’t dungy care about the school? Herm Edwards is a moronic hack. He doesn’t even do a good job with ESPN, much less on the field.

Here is the problem with Dungy. He goes out of his way for his black friends, but not for his white friends.
Chicagojeff: the problem is the whole football world no longer goes by credentails. They go by color.

Chicagojeff: the OTHER reason Caldwell is Indy’s head coach is that Polian runs him like a puppet. He makes NO decision alone.
