Giants-Lions one-liners

Giants second-year TE Travis Beckum scored his first career touchdown in the team’s 28-20 win over the Lions in Week Six.

Giants rookie P Matt Dodge’s struggles continued against the Lions Sunday.

Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw gashed Detroit for 82 yards on 11 second-half carries.

The Giants started the game in a two-tight end set, with offensive lineman Shawn Andrews lining up adjacent to left tackle David Diehl in a “help” blocking position.

Playing through a right shoulder injury, Lions WR Calvin Johnson exploited a blown coverage by Giants DBs Terrell Thomas and Antrel Rolle for his 87-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter.

Lions QB Drew Stanton, replacing Shaun Hill at the end of the second quarter, completed three passes for 103 yards to Johnson, including the aforementioned score.

According to Mitch Albom of the Detroit Free Press, the 2010 Lions are “so close, yet so far away” from being a good team.

Despite the loss, the Lions generated more total yardage than the Giants on Sunday.
