Percy Harvin wins special teams player of the week

Vikings kickoff returner Percy Harvin has been named the NFC special teams player of the week award for his game-changing performance Sunday against the Cowboys.

Harvin turned the game around at the start of the second half with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, tying the score 14-14. It was the third kick return touchdown of Harvin’s brief NFL career.

Harvin had 134 yards on three kickoff returns on Sunday.

This is Harvin’s second career player of the week award in two NFL seasons; he also won the award after returning a kickoff 101 yards for a touchdown in Week 3 last year.

Seeing as how he’s going against the vaunted Packers special teams this week, may as well just double that up.

Harvin is pretty much one of the top 5 players in teh NFL. Favre, Peterson and Moss are also in there.
Damn the Vikings are stacked in talent. Super Bowl here we come!

His return was so sick. I’ve seen much fancier returns but the time it took him to fake to one hole, cut around to the real hole, then casually sidestep one defender on way and then another defender another way… Just sick. He’s the only return man in the NFL that can do it quite that way. When he shot out the other end of that thing there wasn’t anyone within 30 yards. He could have started literally walking at the 20, but in Harvin style he just kept on the gas all the way to the endzone.
Man I love that guy. One of these times he’s going to do that one one of his running plays.
I hate the Chicago White sox home announcer and his stupid “he gone” thing. But with Harvin that is a very fitting expression and I actually used it on his return after he stepped through that one tacke. He gone!
