The Chargers announced on Thursday that they have sold the necessary tickets to avoid a blackout for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.
It’s the first time all year Chargers fans will get to watch a home game in their home market. (We suspect they’ll watch a lot of Patriots fans in the crowd.)
San Diego residents should enjoy the action on television while they can. There are still 12,000 tickets available for next week’s game against the Titans.

I still don’t understand why the NFL is in San Diego. I’ve been there and it’s a beautiful city. Not one you want to live in tho unless you speak Spanish.
Move them to LA and keep your hands off the VIKINGS!
I guess there’s bad weather in SD this weekend.
As a Pats fan living in Los Angeles who bought Sunday Ticket just to watch the Patriots, this is very, very good news. I would have been annoyed not to be able to watch the game because of a blackout here.
LA is a terrible sports town. No one cares about anything except whether Kobe or Shaq “was right” and “was better.”
Yes, they seriously still debate this. All the time.
The NFL would be wasted here.
Just shows you how bad their fans are. They have been a perennial playoff team for the last 5 years or so and they still cant sellout games.
A great many New Englanders live in So. Cal. and are loyal to the Pats. There will be a big cheer when the Patriots score. I for one hope the Chargers stay in the So. Cal. area and find a home. Private funding at a remote site with a deep pockets owner can save the team. Can Disney own a team?
Must be lots of Pats fans in SD.
Everybody in San Diego would rather sit at home and get high

The Braggers are DONE!
They traded away most of their talent. Will not pay the current talent – So who want to play for them.
Besides, their rebuilding effort is nonexistent.
Good Riddance.
@joetoronto
It’s been raining all week but it should be sunny and 67 on Sunday.
Thanks for asking, though.
@FireJerryJones:
That’s awesome! Too bad I spent my “football money” on Sunday Ticket instead of tickets to the game.
While everybody’s having fun with shamu at seaworld, real football fans will be watching the pats win thanks to pats fans buying the tix
Pats fans no doubt. Cheaper to fly to SD for the weekend and go to the game than to drive down Rt1 to Foxboro.

Well there goes the excuse Charger fans keep using, “the weather is nice here, I’d rather go to the beach.”
moving the Chargers to LA would be the worst move they could ever make cause they are all Raider fans. It wouldn’t make for a very good home field advantage.
Unlike most teams, Chargers have only had
TWO home games this year–against the
Cards and Jags…two so-so teams with no
history vs. the Chargers. San Diego was
favored in both games and won by 25 & 31
points. (the team had sold out 40-something
straight games before that…in an enlarged
stadium, so those who babble about uncommitted
fans don’t know what they’re talking about.)
Charger fans WILL get up for the Pats, and
there’s a reason that–despite a 2-4 start–
the Chargers are favored…
@ joetoronto
REAL Charger fans will be at the game for the most part. The bandwagon fans, which unlike most haters believe, do NOT make up most of the Charger fan base. I know PLENTY of fans that have been season ticket holders for 25-30+ years. Some fans simply can’t afford tickets. Others are just not as dedicated or would rather use their money someplace else and those are the bandwagoners. They probably make up 20%, and they are the ones who always talk online and never go to games. It sucks being associated with those people.
The other thing that sucks is living in a city where nearly everyone is a transplant. Most people are loyal to their childhood teams, so why would they support San Diego?
Lots of Pats fans for sure. Iam flying in from CO and my brother is coming up from Texas. Hope Gates plays. Best to measure the progress of a young defense when they havet heir best players available. Without V Jax and Gates it would be a bit of a hollow victory.

I hear ya buddy, hearing that excuse about the weather, over and over again, drives me nuts.
But like you say, those aren’t real fans.
