Goodell reiterates that Favre investigation focuses on “workplace conduct”

In a Thursday afternoon online chat at NFL.com, Commissioner Roger Goodell fielded a question regarding the ongoing Brett Favre investigation.

Goodell acknowledged that the investigation focuses on “workplace conduct.” More specifically, the focal point is whether and to what extent sexual harassment occurred.

Goodell also said that the NFL is “working hard on the development of our workplace conduct training program for all teams.”

As we previously reported, neither the NFL nor the Jets have provided training aimed at avoiding sexual harassment to players.

The investigation began after audio and photos that Favre allegedly sent to former Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger surfaced on Deadspin.com earlier this month. Favre played for the Jets at the time the alleged conduct occurred.

Favre was interviewed on Tuesday. Sterger has not yet agreed to cooperate. She has hired a lawyer, who has indicated an intention to “pursue any available remedies” for her.
