Guys I am pissed…
I’m pissed because when you have a commodity such as a Peyton Manning you friggin step on the gas hold it down and don’t let up. When he retires will all you “Colts fans” wonder how much his coaches and GM allowed him to leave out in the field? Didn’t allow him to atleast match a 16-0 season like his counterpart Brady? How many 4 touchdown games in the first half did he have only to shut it down the second half? His 49 td year could have easily have been 55 or 56 unquestioned

I am a huge Colt’s fan, and this is devastating. I always give them a shot at the playoffs and Super Bowl, but this year they have appeared mediocre from week 1 (with basically all of their starters). I really can’t understand how so many of you are still saying that they are legitimate contenders this year. Sure Peyton has made several stars out of mediocracy, but he has had the pre-season and training camp to focus on it…it hasn’t magically happened in the middle of a season. I hope that we are able to overcome the injuries, but Clark and Collie have been more than half of our offense, and the other injured players (or milkers) such as Gonzales, Brown, Sanders, etc. are not reliable in any way, shape, or form to help energize this team.
The more I watch the seasons go by and watch the stupid decisions that our front office makes, the more I question if we will ever be legitimate contenders again unless things change. For example, our running game has stunk since we let Edgy go, and this season there were tons of free agents who would have sparked this offense in the running game and finally eliminated the overrated Addai (Tomlinson, Jones Taylor, should I go on?), but we never take advantage of free agency. Also, are we ever going to develop a threatening defense? This is the main reason that I do not see the Colts threatening this year. I know that we are built to play with a lead, but if you can’t get a lead because your entire offense is soft or injured, how can you maintain one? Our defense would give up 100 yards rushing to Peyton himself if he were on a different team!
Wake up and face reality Colts fans…this is not our year. Better luck next year!!

they lost harrison?
they lost sanders (multiple times)?
they lost james?
they lost gonzalez last year?
write them off at your peril….

Exactly. People were dropping Dallas C. from their fantasy teams before the injury because of this kind of coverage. Unfortunately the attention focused on Dallas Clark will now be focused elsewhere and “the next man up” philosophy for the Colts might be in trouble. Gonna be a lot harder for guys like Blair White get catches without an all star like Clark in the lineup

Pollard isn’t a hall of famer, but he had a pretty good career for a player that didn’t play a down of college football, and he had a better career in Indy than he would have had anywhere else, because of Manning. The same can be said for Wayne, Harrison, Collie, Clark, etc.
Tamme and Eldridge will have a solid 10 games, and while the Colts will have some growing pains will be led into the playoffs by Manning, not only the best quarterback in the game, the best to play the game.

kisstherings… Marcus Pollard I believe had 10 TD’s in one season! He left and you’ve never heard his name mentioned again. The quote wasn’t “He makes any TE a hall of famer”, but he makes them LOOK like a hall of famer… and I agree, a 10 td season by Marcus Pollard is a great example of that… Thanks for bringing that up…

I agree with Colts fans who say that they should rename the MVP award for Peyton Manning if he manages to take this injured team into the playoffs

You’re right, the ‘Skins did lose to the Rams. But hey, they’re looking decent this year. Bradford looks like the real deal so far.
I’m not saying the ‘Skins are by any means the cream of the NFC right now. But at least we’re showing progress and playing close games against good teams. We are what our record says – A middle of the pack team that is showing signs of improving as our offense and defense continues to gel.
And Brett Favre MVP talks right now? Really? Pretty sure that sounds a lot crazier than saying the Skins defense is hitting people hard right now…

You are a moron dude. Manning is pretty good – Second best QB in the league. But their entire offense is built off timing and recievers getting open. Dallas Clark was a master at it. He was good because any time a blitz came…he was always in exactly the right spot. There is no other TE on the roster that can replicate that….and/or have the hands Clark had.
The Colts will be mediocre at best the rest of the year. They are mediocre up to this point WITH Clark and Collie.

A few good points about the depth of the Colts… especially regarding the lack of a backup QB.
However, consider this: Bob Sanders goes down a couple years ago, and Bethea emerges as a top 5 safety. Sanders goes down (yes, again) last year, and Melvin Bullitt proves to be a top 10-15 safety.
Everyone knows how many white dudes Peyton has made look spectacular at WR/TE. Now all of them seem to be hurt. I say if we make it back to the playoffs with Jacob Tamme and Eldrige at TE, Anthony “Bob Sanders” Gonzalez at WR, and Donald Brown/Mike Hart carrying the ball more than 10 times a game, how does Peyton NOT get the MVP award? At QB, yes, we have no depth. At basically every other position, we do…and now we’ll have to see if the 2nd/3rd string is any good.
P.S.-I hate Jim Caldwell. And I didn’t like Dungy much either. Polian is a douche, but the man knows talent.

You mean defenders are holding Colts receivers and getting away with it… call Bill Polian this is just not right.
I did not relaize the Patriots were the only team in the league that played aggressive defense in those long last days. So does this make it official that Polian changed the rules to get back at the Patriots… shocking!!!!!!
