Cowboys lose linebacker Hodge for the season

Stephen Hodge, we hardly knew you.

Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys linebacker underwent microfracture surgery on Thursday, ending his season before it ever really started.  He was eligible to come off the PUP list Tuesday, but apparently had a setback.

A sixth-round pick in 2009, Hodge has yet to play a down for the Cowboys because of persistent knee injuries.

That would be his 2nd microfracture surgery. I think this kid is done. Sadly, he’ll never play a down in the NFL.

Is he related to Abdul Hodge, a linebacker drafted by Green Bay a few years back out of Iowa — who also had extensive injury problems.

Oh no, he was the missing piece to the turn around Super Bowl run. Or just another useless draft pick, that had knee issues when he was drafted. Jerry the GM needs to stop thinking he can outsmart the process and just draft guys from big schools with big pedigrees, Other than Ware (Troy isn’t that small of a school) , Austin, (both Parcell’s finds) and Free, the starters all come from BCS conference schools.
