Ravens to activate Ed Reed, Brendon Ayanbadejo

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports that the Ravens plan to activate both Ed Reed (hip) and Brendon Ayanbadejo (quadricep) from the Physically Unable to Perform list prior to their Week Seven matchup with the Bills. According to La Canfora, “both showed well in practice this week” and have been medically cleared to play.

Reed’s return was anticipated, but at the same time needed. His replacement at free safety, Tom Zbikowski, is out for Week Seven with a foot injury.

Ayanbadejo is 34 years old, but has long been one of the game’s top special teamers.

In order to make room on the roster, the Ravens must clear two spots. One will be tackle Jared Gaither, who’s going on injured reserve.

The other player let go could be reserve safety Ken Hamlin, who’s been on and off the roster this season.
