Fine coming for Childress

To no surprise, the stunning post-game comments from Vikings coach Brad Childress will get “Chilly” in hot water with the league office.

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the league is reviewing Childress’ comments to KFAN radio for a possible fine.

Mort said that Childress also violated the “cardinal rule” by disclosing that the league privately has acknowledged that referee Scott Green erred when overturning via replay review tight end Visanthe Shiancoe’s second-quarter touchdown reception.

Our guess is that the fine will be in the neighborhood of $25,000, but that it could be higher if the league punishes Childress both for criticizing officials and for sharing with the media the private communication from the league office.
