USCG-BUC i sincerley hope this is a joke. i have lived in the state of co for 14 years and this city is full of bandwagon fans! not just bronco fans either! one sports time has a bad game or a few on it is on to the next sport. hell when the rockies went to the world series a few years ago you couldn’t give tickets away the majority of the time. the make the playoffs and you could see the people in the bars with thei rnew rockies shirts. some still had the tag and the creases on them.

EXACTLY…well said, I was at the game and Mcdaniels was lost and the players distanced themselves from him. All he got done was stare at his playsheet. They are about the biggest bunch of NO TALENT, NO IDENTITY group of guys ever to play in the NFL. Not only does Mcdaniels not bring much to the table, the defense can’t even find the table, pretty pathetic and embarrassing.

@TheWizard – If you’re implying Cutler isn’t talented you need your head examined. The offense was ranked #2 his last year in Denver. If you mean Cutler is an example of how inept McD is at making personnel decisions, then I agree with you.
Even if you give McD the benefit of the doubt and say there IS enough talent on the team, it’s obvious he is not able to make that talent play cohesively as a team. Lack of discipline, lack of preparation, bad play calling – all of that falls on the head coach.

Moved to Broomfield 4 months ago(suburb of Denver) as a loyal Bucs fan I have to say that this is an insanely cool fanbase, they can take some losses and they will take the media criticism. They were pissed at there teams lack of production and how quickly the game got out of hand, but in the end this town loves it’s teams and they show if in full force every week. Denver doesn’t know a bandwagon fanbase and they won’t unless they travel to Florida!

Orton is a quality backup QB but that’s all. He doesn’t play the part. He doesn’t look the part. He is scared of getting hit. And he is not a leader.
“Oh but it’s not his fault. He is throwing for so many yards this season!”
These kinds of comments must be uttered by people who don’t watch Broncos games. Orton looked terrible in the Jets and Raiders games. The reason Denver’s defense was mauled was because Orton produced just one first down in the first half. The defense, which is full of second and third stringers due to injuries, was on the field the entire game because Orton and the Denver offense could not move the ball.
After this season McDaniels should be blown out and replaced by someone who commands respect, not demands respect.

Although he DID struggle against almost all man defense yesterday, he’s much better against zone defenses.

Denver was already sucking before they got to Baltimore this year, they were just racking up passing yards in the process.
It would be wrong of me to assume that what the press writes in Denver is actually even remotely reflective of fans’ opinions. That would be like someone else assuming that Mike Preston represents Ravens fans… and everyone knows that Mike Preston is a freaking moron. The press always needs a story, and anything they can yell about is sure to get more attention; this story is clear evidence of that.
It’s bad enough that Denver took Tebow (if you think he’s better than Orton, or even has the potential to EVER be better than Orton, you’re crazy), but getting rid of Orton would be absurd. Teams have won Super Bowls with QBs worse than Orton. Why would you want to get rid of him?

A 59-14 loss to anybody, especially the Oakland Raiders at home, is ridiculous. But let’s face the facts. The Broncos are one of the least talented teams in the league. Knowshon sucks, their best player Elvis Dumervil is out for the year, Brandon Marshall & Jay Cutler are out of town, etc. Of course Champ is still there, but one standout corner doesn’t make a team good. Ask the Raiders during Nnamdi’s whole career.
What’s their identity? Who’s their best player? McDaniels was smart enough to install a pass happy offense, in what has become a passing league. Kyle Orton is decent, the receivers are decent. Can you name three players on their sdefense? I think in general, Josh McDaniels is a great coach, today not withstanding. The fact this team started out 6-0 last year is a miracle.
McDaniela isn’t the problem, talent leve is.

Its pure stupidity to blame that loss on Orton. Coming into that game, he had led the league in passing yardage i believe. He has definitely played well this year which is all the more impressive with no running game and a bunch of scrub WR’s.
the defense has been terrible, and that was expected going into the season. Most of the moves they made to improve the defense were terrible. Their one good player on that side was lost before the season even started.
There is enver an excuse to lose to a lousy team like Oakland at home by that kind of margain. But I dont blame Orton. He has been the one bright spot

My impression with the Cutler saga was that, at least initially, fans were well aware that he wasn’t the problem, and were just hoping for someone to come in and clean house on D while keeping the O as is (which, ironically, McDaniels could have accomplished last year, as his D improvements, or at least Nolan’s, were quite solid). It wasn’t until Cutler got overly miffed at the admittedly boneheaded play for Cassel that some fans, and certainly the organization, turned on him.
As for Orton, we figured we were getting a game manager when he showed up, and, while that’s what he was last year, he’s blossomed into a legit starting-caliber, albeit imperfect QB.

I’m pretty sure you are a Pats fan like I am. To say that Weis and Crennel (Pioli too)aren’t a MAJOR part of why the Chiefs are a very competitive team this year is silly. RAC’s defense tops the Pats’ so far this year. RAC is clearly the guy who knew how to defend Manning too…he just didn’t have the offensive performance in Cle or KC to put them over the hump for the win. The Pats have beaten the Colts ONCE since RAC left.
Mangini’s three coordinators (O, D and ST) were a huge reason the Browns won yesterday too. ALL of them worked for BB. I HATE what EM did to BB and the Pats but Cleveland plays hard and has been in every game this year.
That said Weis>McDaniels as an OC, IMO. I hate that pass happy spread BS (I think it makes your team less tough), and hated it when he was in NE too. I’m not sure Josh was ready to be a HC yet.
Having success in a lesser position and wanting a promotion you won’t get in your current job (anybody think Weis, Crennel, Mangini, McDaniels were gonna get a shot to be the Pats HC anytime soon???)doesn’t mean you think you were THE reason your team won. It COULD mean that but it doesn’t necessarily. It could just mean you think you are ready for the next challenge and have to move on to get it. I think that’s a pretty normal human thought if you are ambitious.

As a Broncos fan that was the most embarrassing loss I have ever seen. I know the Chargers whooped us 2 seasons ago to win the division and Mike Shanahan was fired! That was a bad loss, but it wasn’t at home, it wasn’t against a 2-4 team, it wasn’t against Jason Campbell and it sure wasn’t against the Biggest rival in the history of the state of Colorado.
Like I said when McDaniels traded away Cutler, he is going to have to earn this fan base, this has nothing to do with being a fairweather fan, I love the Broncos, do I have to cheer for the guy who is tearing them down? Heck No. He has to earn the right to be my coach and he took 10 steps back yesterday.

Orton was not the problem here and Kizsla is a hack journalist. He writes outlandish sh*t about every sports team, inciting more than he should (Broncos and Nuggets in particular)
McDbag may be done here, but it’s not because of Orton. The team flat out wasn’t ready to play and that’s on the coach. Errors were made all over the place, and it wasn’t just Orton who should shoulder the blame.
