Shanahan is a great coach! But I think he blew it on the big fellow handling. He should have found a way to gain peace over the summer. Big Al was wrong and so was the coach for making this a public embarrassment issue. Let’s face it! They paid Haynesworth a ton of money to play like he did last Sunday. He is capable of doing this every week. It was Shanhan’s job to find a way to motivate him to do it. And Haynesworth’s integrity should have forced him to meet the coach half way. It’s in both of their interests to bury the hatchet for the rest of the year and let this work for the good of the team. Meaning, Big Al plays every single down, keeps his big mouth shut, plays hard, and give his coach props for knowing how to do his job.

Lets hope he is a part of the Skins for some time to come. Simply because hey are getting along. You could see a difference yesterday in Albert. Celebrating after that BIG sack, and his team mates happy for him. This team is coming around and the Skins need to make sure that they hold onto Albert so that strides can be made.

@parsonic: Those kind of “should” arguments are futile. I mean, if we played that game we could also say the following:
1. The ‘Skins “should” have beat the Texans, if they hold a 17 point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. OR! If Gano makes his kick in overtime.
2. Jason Avant “should” have never had the opportunity to make that catch IF Carlos Rogers holds on to an INT Kolb threw to him 4 or so passes previous.
3. I was at the Bears game and there is no way to say what would have happened “if” those things happened that you point out. “If” McNabb doesn’t throw that pick 6 and just take a sack, the ‘Skins “should” roll. Remember, by the end of the first quarter, the ‘Skins had 160+ yards to -5 of the Bears.
There are so many other holes in your argument, it is pointless to go through them. Simply put, the “ifs” and “shoulds” are pointless.
Also, Mike Wise is wrong. Haynesworth was NOT taken out of the game during all run plays. Yes, on 1st downs when the Bears might run he was taken out. But two of his biggest plays–the Cutler goal-line stuff and stopping Chester Taylor on 3rd and 1–took place ON RUNNING DOWNS AND FORMATIONS. He came in the game when the ‘Skins went big to stop the run. (I was there at the game and made a note of it.) He played on passing downs and special RUN plays. His run responsibilities were NOT “essentially tak[en] away.”
Sheesh–too many pundits, not enough facts, observation, and common sense.

News flash, people: he’s the same guy. In fact, he’s the exact same guy he was in Tennessee.
He’s a spoiled brat with a near-infinite sense of entitlement….but on gameday, he’s a ridiculously talented athlete, and as dominant as any player in the league.

So I guess that settles it then, Money well spent Dan Snyder. $100 Mill for a good afternoon against the Bears O-Line. Done and done, Haynesworth paid for himself.
